STUNNING! Well worth the upgrade.

TOP GUN was excellent looking and sounding as well.
Again,ditch the BD!

BEVERLY HILLS COP 2 was also great.Piss poor bare bones and no Blu Ray included though....
They all look great but I also thought matrix trilogy was great as well.

Any fans of the original PIRANHA needs to upgrade to SF's 4K disc.It looks incredible.

As does their disc of eighties classsic WAR GAMES.

Still to watch CARRIE,THE COMPANY OF WOLVES and BLACK CHRISTMAS.

The Turbine 4k release of Jackson's brilliant The Frighteners is impressive as well.

Videodrome 4K UHD froze just slightly after 52 minutes in. Have given the disc a thorough wipe with microfibre cloth and I hope that fixes it. Will test later tonight. Had to do same thing with wiping down Arrow Tenebre and Fantastic Beasts 3 (that did fix those discs). Pisses me off that the 4K format is so temperamental, no wonder that I usually buy regular blu-rays and just occasional 4K UHDs.

Sounds like the layers on the disc changing, 4k has 3 layers. Might be a finger smudge on the outside edge maybe?

Thank you, that was very helpful. After a first clean, disc was still stuttering (but not completely freezing anymore). So I concentrated on then thoroughly wiping down the outside edge and now it plays fine (tested it on two more playthroughs).

I'm a bit fed up with 4K UHD recently. Yes it often looks great but the last 3 discs that I checked out, all 3 froze and skipped at one point. Thoroughly cleaning with a microfibre cloth fixed it but it's a pain in the arse to afterwards have a disc replaying two or three times just to check that it's still not a problem.

It bothers me that this format is seemingly so fragile, meanwhile seriously tatty blu-rays that I've sometimes picked up from Cex always play fine. I think from now on, I'll only be picking up UHD's if it's by my favourite director (Argento), or if it's the only option or an absolute steal at the price. There's definitely something to be said for the hardiness of 1080p discs.

I have a 4K UHD/blu-ray set of The Abyss on pre-order from Italian Amazon and I'm very tempted to just watch the 1080p option to save myself potential stress.

Could it be your player?

I had problems with several discs and then something happened with the player and it needed to be replaced. I tried the discs that skipped/stopped previously and they all play perfectly in the new player.

I'd say the same, I have over 100 UHDs and I haven't had any skipping/pausing issues. I have a Panasonic player.
