When I first watched Cannibal Holocaust, the killing of the muskrat had me turning away from the screen in disgust. The scenes where they kill and mutilate a giant turtle still makes me kind of angry even after I've watched the movie a few times now.Just think how many years had that turtle lived before the filmmakers got a hold of it and ripped it to shreds for the camera?

The thing that haunts me most of all is that scene in pet cemetery when the kid gets knocked down. I still have nightmares about that(not helped by being a father of 3 boys).

I'm very squemish at eye violence so Fulci films are always an unpleasant experience.

Also bone's breaking through the skin really creep me out.

Teeth pulling(Philosophy of a knife)

And that scene at the end of Mordum is pure vile

The Muskrat killing in Ferox. Oh man that sucked, especially the build up. Just watching the snake slithering over to the animal put me off, knowing what was going to happen...

Under natural circumstances I would be fine with the graphic nature. But knowing these two creatures had been brought together deliberately to entertain the fantasies of some sick joker get's off on such material is what I hate.

Yeah I watch wildlife documentaries all the time and don't really care when the violence of that sort starts. But like you say, organising an animals death is when I get bothered. Though censoring it will do nothing: It's too late for that. It won't bring the animals back. Still I can't stomach that stuff.

Bearing in mind I do love Cannibal Holocaust and consider it a masterpiece. Thankfully, most of the animal violence in that one was "slaughter" aside from the poor muskrat death. As a result of this, I'm more than happy with my shameless release.

Extreme pointless gore, namely Japanese stuff, seen one never again went in the bin would be ashamed to have it in my collection. Yuck.

Agreed, Deodato was a smart man to please as many people as possible that way, pity about the Muskrat though. Saw it once and that's enough, and CH does stand out as a masterpiece as a result of all this.
