Thunderbird 6 (1968, David Laine) The Tracys are terrible employers. The way Brains and Parker are treated by this bunch is deplorable, workers comp all round !! Ahem. IR have a bit to cope with this time as a nefarious sort has got it in his head to try and "kidnap" several Thunderbirds with the old "fake alert" trick. Luckily they never take a break, even on a maiden voyage. Whereas the first film tried to push the envelope a bit, this just feels like reheated stuff. Daring arial shenanigans? Check! (Remember the first episode cough?) Ahem.

I'll have to peruse the funds methinks! Into The Darkness (1986, David Kent-Watson) Malta set caper from the GBH helmer? With the actual Donald Pleasance in it? (chewing the antiquities for all he's worth!!). SOLD. SOV fun as a down at heel thespian is forced to take part in a photo shoot in order to keep body and soul together Before you all rush to the exits, there IS a maniac knocking off the dolly birds and what have you. Tis a pity the Tracy clan were a tad more animated than this cast though ...

The House That Dripped Blood (1971, Peter Duffell) A copper looks into the history of a local abode after a string of strange occurrences in it's past are brought to light. Yes, it's the one with Jon Pertwee hamming it up For all that, easily the most British of all those portmanteaus imho. A cast of stalwarts get put through their paces and all acquit themselves well.

Never Let Go (1960, John Guilerman) Again, this was worth the wait. Richard Todd plays a little man who is forced into action after a theft. Is this the best thing I've seen RT in? Never really rated him, as I grew up with him playing stuffy types in films I disliked, but this is something else, especially considering the other notable turn in this flick. Sellers is Lionel Meadows, chief bad 'un of this parish, and 'e's a right bleedin' 'orrible bastard alright and no mistaking! Lawdy! It all gets a bit fraught, as Todd just won't let the matter drop, regardless how the supporting cast tell him otherwise. Recommended or ELSE
