Schizo (1976, Pete Walker)

A figure skater is stalked by a not so unfamiliar figure from her past.
Cheery and spry family comedy. No, that's Mr Blandings Builds His Dream Home
Ahem. Dour as only PW can be, this rather fat free wee shocker kept my attention due to the variety of familiar faces. Sentimental Demon
In a weirdly Christie like style, the supporting cast are all "suspects" of one sort or another. A hoot.

Indeed.

Lisztomania (1975, Ken Russell)

A sober reflection on the life and times of Hungarian composer, Franz Liszt. Told almost documentary style

Ahem.
The maddest film I've seen this month (remember ... The Abomination cough )
Tommy turns his hand to the old joanna to earn a crust for his sins. Like all music biopics, this tries to balance reportage with cinema, and with KR as the helm, we know we're in safe hands.
Tinkling the ivories may produce a wonderful racket, but filmic it isn't. No need to worry, as our dear director fills the screen at every opportunity with either sets of that woozy art deco he loved so much or bodies, bodies, bodies.
Sod that Elvis flick, I know what rock star film i'll be raving about come December

I suppose anything is worth a try when he used to work on the docks, Unions been on strike and he's down on his luck.

It doesn’t make a difference if he makes it or not.

I had the wee misfortune to come across a dubbed version of Gregory's Girl

Now, I had seen a "revoiced" version of That Sinking Feeling years before, so I gritted my teeth and pressed play.
The script more or less intact (WELL), but we'll come to that later.
Modern dubbing is a world away from some of the monstrosities we've all witnessed in our time, regardless of genre, but some still detract (The Raid springs to mind here) and this is a prime example why.

" ....aye, no men or women, just whack offs"

Now, if you know the film, you'll know that's nae right.

As you were.
