Wow super amounts of love! David Cronenbourg is one of my favourite horror directors so there really is no excuse as to why I haven't seen it yet. Oh well I'm sure I will have seen it by Christmas then if it comes out on it's supposed release date.

Good news for any Region B locked folk who were unable to pick up the Criterion release.
I doubt it will have the Videodrome films featured on the US disc. Don't see them getting past the BBFC (I could be wrong of course).

I received the Silent Running review disc in the mail this morning and haven't yet had a chance to watch it. I have extremely high hopes for the HD encoding and the extra features.

If Universal include the Criterion extras especially the bootleg footage it may run into problems with the BBFC - in 2004 they rejected the 'Fake Porn Movie' from The Howling special edition because it was 'divorced from the original context' or something like that. I'm not bothered if its bare bones, I've waited a long time to get one of my favourite films on Blu ray

Exactly. I seriously doubt the bootleg footage will make it.
