'The owners of the film 'Society' are currently working on resolving a legal issue which has recently arisen. Unfortunately this has meant that UK distributor Second Sight Films has not been able to release the film on the date planned.'

We will of course be posting updates as soon as we receive them and are instructing Amazon to remove the title until further notice.

and play has it for dec 31st!

This news is a little disappointing. It does give me the chance to revisit the film via the Tartan DVD though, so I can see whether an upgrade is really justified (in my case).

Play always lists releases with unknown release dates for the end of the year. I asked SS what was happening and they said it's cancelled until further notice, so I wouldn't expect it anytime soon

Not at all. They mentioned a few weeks back that Full Moon had located the original film elements. It's on Amazon (crazy price just now, but it'll drop). And I know that Calum is writing the booklet for this and Toxic Avenger.

This just reminded me of a few years back when it was announced on here that, I think, Arrow were going to release THE VIDEO DEAD on blu ray. There was a bit of excitement and then it turned out to be an April fools... And then Scream actually did release it a good while later
