Wouldn't be able to start that collection, first is a DVD then rest Blu? Ah ah, no way, sizes don't match and besides DVDs and Blus belong on separate shelves. A blu collection starting with number 2 would do my nut
Rik, BAKA and Boo Radley like this.

Thought I'd place this here, incase anyone was interested. Third Window Films are releasing a limited edition DVD & BD set featuring work from three new directors in Japan. There's a KickStarter, it's less than £1,000 away from the target, and there are only 75 out of 250 copies left (at time of writing) all signed by the three directors. It's £16, and the money isn't taken until August.

Great to see so many people here supporting this! Adam from TWF seems a bit overwhelmed with the support and how quickly this all seems to have happened, but he did tease this nugget which has me even more excited:

Quote:
Nagisa Isogai makes 70s style exploitation films (she even overdubs)

Hirobumi Watanabe's 'And the Mud Ship' is very Jim Jarmusch proper low budget surreal and black comedy/drama

while 'Buy Bling' is a simple comedy, but also a bit out there, and also shot on 35mm which is super rare nowadays in Japan
Buy Bling might not be my thing, but certainly there's a good chance I'll love the stuff from the first two directors.

Re 88 Films' slasher collection.

Firstly, Mother's Day is not a slasher film by any stretch of the imagination. Also, the Troma US blu is already out there, dirt cheap, region free and with a beautiful picture. Plus, it doesn't have an ugly numbered spine.

Then there's Graduation Day. Coming in September as a region free blu-ray/ DVD combo from Vinegar Syndrome, which boasts a 4k restoration.

Finally, I agree the fact that Unhinged is DVD only makes the numbered spine thing very undesireable.

Good luck to 88 Films, it's good to see such titles coming to the UK. But the only one I'd have bought would be Don't Go ... Were it not a load of rubbish.
