It's not a letterbox affair is it?

I put Saturn 3 on the other day and it was like watching, well, a letterbox literally. Took up about ten cm in the middle of my QLED screen.

That didn't last long.

Yeah, you have to zoom it in to watch and thus lose a good bit of definition. Stupid when it's a two disc set stuffed to the gils with extras, so why on earth not have a proper anamorphic transfer? Supposedly both The Abyss and True Lies are getting the 4k treatment this year so I'll definitely be upgrading. The Abyss immediately.
I haven't seen Saturn 3 in forever, which release do you have Dem?

I don't, not anymore. Or at least not tomorrow when i trade it in at Cex.

It's the ITV / Carlton release part of the Silver Collection.

Coming back to Saturn 3. Was it purely the quality of said disc that saw it go to the Cex shop Dem?

Yes. I like the film but found the image unwatchable it was so small.

Glad I never picked that disc up. I've considered a few times. I'm surprised 101 haven't put it out yet. It seems right up their street.
I've only seen it once or twice, a TV recording from many many years ago. Only think I always thought was how old Kirk Douglas seemed, even then. Other than that i remember really enjoying it.

Got that on pre-order. I plan to watch Ghost Ship when it arrives and save Bedlam which i love until Christmas.

Have you got Cat People? That's a Criterion release? Recommended.

No, I've held off so far until more more turn up. It would be nice if a label would release them all for consistency sake.

There's a chance Warners will release Isle of the Dead and The Body Snatcher as they are already out in the US on the Warner Archive label. I have The Body Snatcher and it looks great.

Curse of the Cat People is with Shout Factory so it's unlikely you'll be getting any sort of consistency. They are all over the place.
