Both Chucky films are from Amazon France.Waiting on a reply from them to see if BRIDE contains an English soundtrack option.....
THE TOOLBOX MURDERS isn't out until JAN 26 2010...Cheer us up in the most depressing month of the year!

]Tarantino fans who don't mind shopping at Amazon France-rejoice!
The KILL BILL duo are steelbooks
![/COLOR][/B]

kevxxx1 30th October 2009 08:46 PM

I'm waiting for the Japanese cut of Kill Bill to arrive on Blu Ray :eyebrows:

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 30th October 2009 11:19 PM

Probably a good idea to get the slaughter scene in colour. The French standard dvd was also in b&w....:ohwell:
But I can't resist steelbooks with classy art....

vincenzo 30th October 2009 11:24 PM

And this is how that phenomenal scene looks intact and in colour. :fencing:

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 30th October 2009 11:25 PM

Literally night and day.

LineSix 31st October 2009 11:48 AM

Concerning the slaughter scene, I watched Kill Bill when it was on TV a while back, and I'm pretty sure it was in colour and not black and white like those pictures on that link...

vincenzo 31st October 2009 12:04 PM

From what I recall reading it was the same as the worldwide (b/w) print. Can anyone confirm?

Angel 31st October 2009 04:46 PM

I like the new blue writing colour.

I haven't bothered to tune into the TV screenings as I always assumed they would be the R version. Somewhat surprising that they would show the uncut version. I'll tune in next time for sure.

BioZombie 1st November 2009 11:22 AM

I honestly cant imagine that they would show the Japanese cut on TV
and thats the only one with the colour scene intact

kevxxx1 1st November 2009 02:27 PM

I agree, it's very unlikely.

vincenzo 1st November 2009 06:10 PM

Everybody I've spoke to watched the last TV showing said it was the usual R-rated print. If they'd shown the full version quite a few people would have mentioned it on the internet.

BioZombie 2nd November 2009 09:40 AM

Talking of Kill Bill uncut I recently saw that The Whole Bloody Affair may finally be coming to blu-ray/dvd. There is a quote from QT here:

http://www.slashfilm.com/2009/08/10/...eted-and-more/

I also read he said it will all be colour and the extra gore from the japanese release will be in. I have been waiting for this for 5 years!!!!!

vincenzo 2nd November 2009 10:48 AM

The full colour version is absolutely incredible.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 2nd November 2009 05:32 PM

I should have snapped up the Japanese disc before the price rocketed....

Really looking forward to Blue Underground's TOOLBOX MURDERS and Arrow's DAY OF THE DEAD.....:woot:

How about an Arrow Blu-Ray of MARTIN?;)

kevxxx1 2nd November 2009 08:52 PM

Do films like The Toolbox Murders and Martin really benefit from Hi-Def?

I'm hoping so mate.....

Here's some more upcoming goodies.
SCREAM TRILOGY is from Germany.
All the rest are UK releases.
Really looking forward to THE DESCENT:woot:

Stephen@Cult Labs 3rd November 2009 09:35 AM

I see that the Dances With Wolves Blu-ray is the theatrical version.Really a missed opportunity there.Would have been nice to have the Director's cut or even both versions.

iluvdvds@Cult Labs 3rd November 2009 05:38 PM

Oooh Inglorious Basterds in HD - that should be good.

Another couple coming up are Lady Vengeance and Sympathy For Mr Vengeance which I imagine will look just beautiful!!!!!

Stephen@Cult Labs 3rd November 2009 05:55 PM

That german Scream trilogy is cut unfortunately.Apparently the version of Scream on the blu-ray is cut worse that the R-rated version (by about 2 mins  )and also Scream 2 is cropped from 2.35 to 1.85 :tsk:

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 3rd November 2009 11:29 PM

Oh well,to fek with that then.
The original SCREAM is being released on BR in Oz soon, uncut.

That's odd - as I have the German SD DVD of it and it's the full, uncut version (which is why I picked it up - that and it's anamorphic). Uncut doesn't add a great deal, just a few snippets of gore - but the zoom into Drew Barrymore's corpse hanging from the tree packs more of a punch and is more visceral. I definitely prefer it uncut.

vincenzo 4th November 2009 02:06 AM

Differences between the unrated and R-rated prints of Scream here.

With regards to the Scream trilogy blu-ray.I'm basing my comment on what i've read on other forums. Some people were saying it was cut more than the r-rated version.I've had another search and it now looks lke there are 2 boxsets out.One cut with the fsk-18 logo and one uncut (director's cut?),with no logo but both sets contain Scream 2 in 1.85

Sorry if its already posted but I just read on BluRay Freak that L Kauffman (forgive spelling) will be releasing the TROMA films on BluRay , one title per month.
The region wasn't stated.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 16th November 2009 07:30 PM

Hopefully R0 mate.Troma's usually are.Good news indeed Vips!
The more cult labels on BR,the better!

vipco 18th November 2009 05:43 PM

Any know if Land of the Dead is out / comming out on UK BluRay.?
Its my favourite Romero 'Dead' movie.

Rob Strange 18th November 2009 08:59 PM

Aye, it's been out for a while now. Released by Universal. Pretty substantial improvement from the dvd. :thumb:

According to Play, Optimum are releasing the Wicker Man on blu on March 2010. Will probably be the shorter cut, as I think the full version only exists in the form of a one-inch telecine master, sadly. Great film in any version though, with a really memorable performance from the late Edward Woodward. RIP.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 18th November 2009 09:34 PM

Yeah I saw that they are releasing THE WICKER MAN next year.Fantastic news!

DVD Trash 20th November 2009 02:28 AM

Italian Trash on Blu!

How about this - Italian Trash on Blu Ray! Bud Spencer and Terence Hill plus Tomas Milian and Bombolo! :woot:

http://dvdtrash.blogspot.com/2009/11...sh-on-blu.html

Think my folks will be heading to the DVD store in Italy and picking Delitto up for me before they come home from Italy for Xmas! I pray that there is a discernible upgrade in image quality!

Don't think there will be subs, but you never know!

bizarre_eye@Cult Labs 28th November 2009 07:38 PM

I thought you Blu-Men (see what I did there  :behindsofa:) would like to know that Blue Underground are releasing Vampyres on Blu-Ray in March 2010.
