There is no release date yet, but it is set for the first quarter of 2013. Needless to mention that the transfer is based on a new HD master taken from the orginal camera negative. Also, Subkultur are allowed to use all the bonus material that was on the dvd and they will put a German audio commentary on it.

*edit*
Of course there will be English Audio. In fact, I just asked on the facebook page of Subkultur if they could include English subtitles for the audio commentary.

Found some interesting news about the future of Blue Underground, translate from Italian on this website: DVD // Le prochain Blue Underground | 1kult le webzine du cinéma alternatif

"However, it is May 21, 2013 that out, plus a new box dedicated to the western Alpine, an album of previously unpublished kind from the publisher. Indeed, it was at this time that The Great duel of Giancarlo Santi . Undoubtedly one of the beads of the spaghetti western, starring Lee Van Cleef who signs one of his best performances. The director who signs here his first feature film is famous for having replaced the filming of Once upon a time the revolution by Sergio Leone at the request of two major players after a week of shooting.

Unprecedented in our DVD, The Great duel was played at the output of Kill Bill in a program dedicated to his on Canal plus the issuance Theater District . A film that had a lasting impact Quentin Tarantino who had to kick it as he had himself chosen in this "carte blanche" given to him.

Good news that this DVD release, if confirmed by other titles after the publisher. But we can otherwise only be skeptical before this announcement. Indeed, it would have been preferable to offer the film for high definition, which became a standard for three years. In addition, one existing at Mill Creek Entertainment , double-feature with Keoma , we hope to find an original version subtitled in our language.

It is too early to know more about the specifications. But the state Filmaficionados we learn a little more about the future of the label Bill Lustig . We hope to hear more soon."
