Yeh, I think if you choose to pre-order an item from anywhere and choose to pay through paypal you will pay straight away. Elecktrocity did also seem to have a pay direct through the website option but I didn't look into it. This may again involve paying straight away though, like Nos says.

I'm pretty sure that every time I have ordered from them in the past, whether paying by PayPal or credit card, the money has been taken straight away.

This can be a plus because it means the item is bought and paid for so, if it is a limited edition, you know you are guaranteed what you have ordered and don't have to worry about the money being taken from your bank account when it is released. On the other hand, your money is in their background accruing interest until the release date!
