Arrow are releasing it at some point as well. At least that's what one of their team said when I asked at Grimm. Like with The Fury they might even look at doing a restoration. So glad I didn't cave as those depalma discs almost had me reaching for my wallet...

Ooh won't pick up the Aus disk then, I'll wait for that.

Love Arrows DePalma releases

And yet they said they could't get the rights to Body Double. Strange. I honestly think some people who work for these companies don't have a clue. I remember asking Shout Factory about a releasing something, and they said there was a good possibility, only to have Cliff Macmillan reply the next day and say there was no chance they would ever release it (can't remember the title though).

I know there are some right issues at the minute but the guys at Arrow are big Depalma fans and its one they are apparently still looking at. If the studio still remains bitchy about letting them have the rights then its the Aussie release for me as well but I'm holding off as long as possible as these things can change pretty quickly.

I'm not a big Franco fan, well I'm not a Franco fan at all, but I'll pick this up. The German X-Rated Kult DVD of Les Demons was one of the first DVD I bougt back in the day, along with Torso and Death Smiles At Murder.

The more I think about it the more I think they should stick those Grillet blu's as regular Kino editions. This along with the Pete Walker stuff is far more in keeping with Redemptions output.

I do agree in some respects, although some of Grillet's films centre around erotic themes, plus some also express a horror/surreal quality which would stand them in good stead alongside say some of Rollin's films.

As you've seen from the latest purchases thread, I decided to pull the trigger on the BFI Grillet box rather than picking up the individual releases from Redemption. Mainly because the boxset was just over £40 which means that each film works out as less than £7 a piece - a real bargain - but also I can't see Redemption releasing all 6 films themselves; despite having three of them as upcoming/announced titles already. BFI may eventually release them individually too, but no doubt at more than £7 a piece... at least to begin with.
