I know you said you weren't gonna buy it, I just don't see the point in the endless debate on here every time CH is mentioned/getting a new release. I fully appreciate how some people are appalled by the animal killings, fair enough, but there's no need to drag up this old debate all the time

only slightly off topic but has anyone read the cannibal holocaust book by fab press as I'm thinking of giving it a go and was wondering if it's worthwhile?

It's well worth a read, I have the original pressing from 1999 and the later updated edition, obviously the book focuses mainly on CH, but as with their other director series books, it has chapters on his other works too. I'd definitely recommend it and as far as I know, it's fairly cheap these days

Yeah, it's a great book. It's a great overview of his career with chapters on every film, just as the title suggests it spends longer on CH than anything else (16 pages, compared to the 2, 3, 4, 5 etc pages it gives for other works). Good interviews too and loads of pictures.

Their books are always great, I'm constantly on the look out for the Bava one at a reasonable price and the original Argento Art of Darkness one, both of which I missed out on originally

Well Gary Tooze (of DVDBeaver) has spoken... Stick with Kino's WHITE ZOMBIE, the unmolested raw version included as an extra that is, as the new Roan blu ray is nearly as waxy and indistinct as Kino's remastered version! And as far as Herzog's NOSFERATU is concerned go BFI, Shout Factory have DNR'd it to death!
