Just found out a juicy piece of gossip:

Director Frank Henenlotter, who just saw his long delayed hit DVD, took to Facebook revealing plans for an October Basketcase Blu-ray release! "We're hoping to have a "Basket Case" blu-ray ready by October through Image Entertainment, remastered from the original 16mm negative (which has never been used for any previous releases)."

I haven't actually seen Basket Case since me and an old mate rented that and Evil Dead for a double bill back in the early eighties!

Evil Dead blew it away but it's time I gave Basket Case another chance.

I love Basket Case as it is so completely barmy and unapologetically cheap and nasty. The effects are fairly mediocre but it's funny and weird which is why it's on my favourite horror-comedies so I'll definitely pick up that Blu-ray release.

Same here and that is a really good DVD set with an informative and funny commentary that I hope makes it onto the Blu-ray.

I don't think I've actually listened to it yet. Think I may have to remedy that this weekend.

Yeah, I also have a feeling it won't be English friendly. One more reason for an Arrow blu-ray.
