Yeah, I was talking about the smoke/shotgun scene. I doubt anything else would go back into the film, so it would all be about extras. It's possibly a small thing, but I hated that they added the smoke to the scene.

And the original UK DVD is uncut with that scene intact.

I seem to recall reading that Lynch had some issues with the film both prior to release during test screenings and also post-Cannes where he was ordered by the producers to alter a shotgun to the head scene for the US market to achieve an R Rating. Prior to Cannes he'd already removed some torture scenes on the back of the test screenings (I highly doubt whether this footage would have or ever will make it into any release).

The only difference between the original European version and R-rated version, is the added smoke effect to the shotgun scene. The European BD's have the R-rated version, which is a bit of a bummer.

I have the UK DVD and the OOP Universal UK Blu and didn't notice a difference (more smoke added to cover the blood etc.), which just shows how much attention I was paying! I'll have to watch it again and really take note. It's strange that the UK Blu was affected by this considering it was left intact on the DVD.

Not strange at all, the HD master that Lynch supervised was the censored version, so that's what everyone gets.

I think the UK blu-ray is the best HD version, and the original UK dvd for the uncensored version.
Linbro likes this.

Nick Redman has also confirmed that Twilight Time will be releasing Peckinpah's The Killer Elite later in the year.

Grindhouse Releasing cover and some details for Cannibal Holocaust is in an ad in the latest issue of Gorezone. Trying to find a way to source an image.

Also Cat In The Brain and Cannibal Ferox also featured in the ad.
