What Films Have You Seen Recently?

Took a break fro my jim jarmusch marathon to check out an odeon dvd I picked up cheap in a charity show called BROTHER CAN YOU SPARE A DIME.

Directed by phillipe mora, it cuts together newsreel footage and clips from classic movies to present the era of the great depression. No voiceover or attempt at documentary it feels more like a very interesting experiment and certainly the most intersting film i've seen with phillipe moras name attached!

It gives an interesting look at depression era movies and feels like a very fresh approach to traditional documentary film-making.

Re watched Yor I can't begin to describe how much i love this film. F*ck your clash of the titanshite etc. Was pleased by the response as well (favourable).

Also was pleased to introduce 2 more virgins to Frisky Dingo, a rather cheeky animated "superhero" yarn...any fans??

THE VINEYARD - Don't try to make sense of this lopsided offering. It's not quite 'Hellgate', but it's getting there. A Chinese sorcerer - scientist chains up a bunch of victims in his basement lab and drinks an age defying elixir. Another bunch of victims arrive at his chateau and hang out for a bit. Some zombies sort of rise from the dead, but don't really do anything. Some things happen... people talk, walk in and out of rooms, look in books, fight with machetes. This movie left me with the impression I'd just had a really bland dream with some special effects and nudity in it. Why do I like films like these? Did I do something really bad in a former life?

back to Jim Jarmusch. THis is his first movie and in color. It folllows a young drifter wandering new york (played by the same person who inspired the movie nontheless) and is a semi-documentary based on his experinces. Short at just under 80 minutes and highly reccomended. Manages to capture the grimy authenticity of new york as well as classics like street trash or combat shock.

Films like this are like looking at the gaps between the stars!

Watched the maze last night quite enjoyed it pretty good slasher film
Also saw kick ass again few days again and while i was just searching net then there a sequel due out soon cant wait loved the first one ...

Watched Bad Taste last night and.... Dear god.
It was HILARIOUS!! Actually the funniest movie I've seen in a long time. The effects are amazing, and it has one of the best send off lines ever seen.
"Suck my spinning steel, SHITHEAD!!!"

Now to track down a decently priced ABUS Limited Edition.
