Actually, I still have the review disc from years ago and want to buy the real thing. In terms of visual quality, I think it delivers the best picture I've ever seen, so there'll be two of us buying a copy!

Make that 3. I've been meaning to buy it for a while after watching the Blu from my Lovefilm rental. It is simply astonishing to watch and it's the only 8K transfer available on Blu-ray so far (I think) and it's stunning.

Now I'm hoping for Kowaanisqatsi, Powaqqatsi, Naqoyqatsi and Samsara to obtain the same 8K treatment. In case you weren't aware Samsara will be getting it's UK release this September, can't wait to see it.

EDIT: Just realised it's being distributed by Arrow Films too ....... http://www.entertainment-focus.com/n...nounce-samsara

TAKEN - a very entertaining action thriller from Pierre Morel and a good script co-written by Luc Besson, w/Liam Neeson in good form

come on Luc, when are you going back to directing films like NIKITA and LEON?????

I didn't realise that Luc Besson had a hand in Taken.

That may go some way to explain why I didn't like it!
Baseball Fury likes this.

Lovely picture Sawyer! I watched those Pink Panther films not too long ago - great fun!

The Conformist - Incredible movie. I watched it twice in a row, the second time with the commentery, which is excellent. Just about every scene here is a masterpiece and I can't recommend the blu ray highly enough.

I Come With the Rain - A dud I'm afraid, a shame because Tran Ang Hung is one of my fav directors. This though is a terribly acted, incomprehensible piece of gibberish. If only they had focussed on the Elias Koteas serial killer character instead of all this nonsensical gangster stuff we could have had a movie on our hands,.

Like you, Sawyer, my favourite Pink Panther film is A Shot in the Dark – Blake Edwards' direction is flawless, William Friedkin's screenplay is hilarious and Peter Sellers is on top form. If only they were all very good…
