Pffft...the third one's great! Damien Vs the Second Coming of Christ! What more do you want?

I also quite like The Final Conflict, much prefer it to the first sequel.

None of them are great films, but I would only consider The Omen even a half good film. Damien is enjoyably poor, but the third is just bad.

So much so that it put me off realising how good Sam Neill is for many years.

It's not humainly possible to consider The Omen 'Trash' and yet place the Godzilla movie's so highly.
Now I love me some Godzilla but having them shadow's The Omen, a stunningly shot, amazingly acted, and all round NEAR PERFECT HORROR MOVIE, is perfectly ludicrous.

I love these differences of opinion between Hawk n' Gojirosan

(sorry Hawk, I'm with him, first one is enjoyable Hollywood tosh, second one's watchable, not bothered about the rest) . . .

It's not like I consider the Godzilla films on a par with Once Upon A Time IN The West or Shadow Of A Doubt or anything (except for the first one, which I do consider a powerful and moving classic film). They are enjoyable trash too. Better than The Omen though.

I disagree with everything you just said about The Omen. It's made adequately but nothing more (like a fancy TV film) and other than Billie Whitelaw the acting is sub-par across the board. It's cheese, plain and simple. Enjoyable cheese, but undeniably cheese. Nowhere near the first rung of horror films.

Actually, as confusing and surprising as I find them, so do I. There is no malice at all and Hawkface is such a lovely chap.
