Yes, knowing some actual, in-the-flesh from Japan people, the teenagers do actually use those terms in real life, not just in anime and manga, and some certain older than teenagers known as Otaku, which, many people who frequent this forum would be known as if they were Japanese.

But if anime has taught me one thing, Japanese culture is complicated, social hierachy is freaking mental compared to here!
