I rewatched Django last night. Enjoyed it more that the first time. The scene where Franco Nero guns tonnes of guns with a massive machine gun is ace, there's no way he be able to hold it without a stand though. |

Just watched the remake of The Crazies. Pretty good, as far as remakes go. |
1 Attachment(s) Iluvdvds - you seem to have a bit of a yeti / bigfoot fetish at the moment. Just a warning - stay well clear of Clawed, its really not very good. |

I quite like Abominable, and Hammers The Abominable Snowman is terrific, but which others would you suggest? |

Heheh fear not guys, for the self-obsessed Bigfoot Film Nerd has come to the rescue  Check out http://www.cult-labs.com/forums/us-h...oot-films.html - dedicated to these films :) Abominable and The Abominable Snowman are both FANTASTIC films. Most of these films are utter crap though - hillariously so, so if you do venture into this category of film, expect plenty of so-bad-its-good genius. Obviously there's Night of the Demon, Shriek of the Mutilated, Snowbeast, Creature from the Black Lake and the Legend of Boggy Creek that are the Bigfoot classics. But if you can, check out Yeti: Giant of the 20th Century - it's sooo bad! A bigfoot the size of King Kong falls in love with a certain actress from City of the Living Dead - it's hillariously bad! |
2 Attachment(s) Snow Beast is ok once it decides its a horror film and not a ski resort promo real. Is Shriek of the Mutilated any good? Boggy Creek unfortunately is long unavailable. Do you know of a good print of Creature from the Black Lake. Finally have you seen any of these pictured? The second one has Mutilated on it. |

Finally have you seen any of these pictured? The second one has Mutilated on it.[/QUOTE] Yep seen/got both. Yeti one is on SyFy alllll the time (called Yeti: Curse of the Snow Demon and is hillariously crap! The other boxset is a good un to get. There's another one out from the same company with Sasquatch: The Legend of Bigfoot (really good), Snowbeast and Snow Creature. The DVD cover uses the Yeti: Giant of the 20th Century poster for some stupid reason. |
I am going to order the Bigfoot Terror set, i looked at the one you mentioned when i got the above pics, i already have Snowbeast, if i get hooked on men in monkey suits though i am sure i will take the plunge. :) |
Have you seen Ogre? Its on the Horror Channel occasionaly. Its about a 19th century village in the woods terrorized by a cgi ogre. John Schneider of Smallville / Dukes of Hazzard stars. |

You have to like Loch Ness Terror, it was set in Scotland for all of five minutes, then as you say Canada. Never has a film title been so WRONG |

I've just returned from the cinema where I saw Scre4m which was far better than Scream 3 and about level with #2 is the best of the sequels. |

Insidious is just what we needed. A indie supernatural flick. now some people may not enjoy the over the top parts in the 2nd half but they did not distract me from the story and it was like a fun ride! US bluray is out july 12th! So pretty quick as it was in cinema over there start of April. |
That often used to be the case when cinemas in the US would show films months before over here. I remember seeing Garden State at the cinema, coming home and ordering it from (I think) DVD Soon that evening! |
Managed to convince my other half to watch Rossa Venezia with me! I did have to endure The Expendables first though.:woot: |

Just seen spanish horror thriller Julia's Eyes it was a pretty interesting flick :) a tad long at nearly 2 hours but still good and kept me interest keeps u guessing at whats going on |
nae quite on topic but.... anyone see that Awfully Good Movies ting on C4 last night?? apart fae the fact that i now HAVE to see PUMA MAN, twasnt great...and he was cheeky about ZFE!! also watched Faceless again, felt more favourably about it this time, it didnt seem to draaaag as much etc, as ive had problems with MOST of JF's work can ANYONE recommend some of his canon???? |
Quote:
I didn't catch the last 2/3rds of it (but have it on Sky+ to watch) so will see what he said abuot ZFE but Pumaman is hilarious! It was one of the films on Mystery Science Theater 3000 which is where I first saw it. And it has Donald Pleasance in too! The show itself seemed a bit rubbish altough considering it was done for a mainstream audience it was good to see stuff like Troll 2 and The Room on. Oh and I just watched Night Train Murders. Really well made film overall, much better than Last House on the Left. |

Eugenie is very decent (it's a good take on the Marquis de Sade tale), as is The Diabolical Dr Z. I also like Mansion of the Living Dead; more of a guilty pleasure though, that one ;) |

Just watched Tesis. Brilliant film! Really gripping stuff. |
1 Attachment(s) Just watched Touch of Evil. Classic crime noir starring Charlton Heston, Orson Welles and Janet Leigh. A gripping film about murder and deceit on the US/Mexico border. |
Quote:
It's yet another of those films that I should watch more often than I do. |
I never noticed the opening tracking shot. |
It apparently influenced John Carpenter when he was making Halloween which is why the opening shot in that film doesn't have an obvious cut for quite some time. If you're not too tired, put the disc back in and just watch the first 10 minutes as the crane/tracking shot which takes you across the border is a thing of cinematic beauty. |

Probably cos the dog kept pawing me for a biscuit causing a distraction. Thats my excuse. ;) |
1 Attachment(s) Crikey! |
Right now i'm watching House Of 1000 Corpses, brilliant film |
watched black swan last night - it ws ok |

Watched Inferno Of Torture last night. Japanese pinky film by Teruo Ishii, visually very nice but pretty weak in the plot dept. |
Centurion.. Good film with some nice gorey scenes. Poor and uneeded CGI did annoy me though:censored:censored: Under Seige 2:) Get Huim To The Greek.. Funny film which I did enjoy. Does anyone else think Russel Brand is a good singer? I laughed at the songs, but couldn't help but like them at the same time:rockon: |
