geekdog.jpg Finally plucked up the strength of will to watch "Hercules Unchained" 1959 with Steve Reeves in the mini-skirt and sandals of Haircurlers, the Greek demi-god. If this is the best that demi-gods can do then I'm glad that I'm an atheist! Oh, all right! It had it's moments - 9/10 but not for Mrs. Haircurler's singing!

To bridge the gap between seasons 5 & 6 of the X Files, I watched the first movie last night for the first time. Loved it and can't wait to carry on with the next season, when I get round to buying it. I'm a bit annoyed with myself for giving up on the show all those years ago, (going out drinking, working away from home and forming bands were the main reasons for this) as I'm getting right into it again and despite the fact the internet is full of spoilers as to how the show ended, I'm none the wiser so I'm interested to see how it all turns out

Sharknado last night. SFX leave a lot to be desired. The story is completely unbelievable. The acting is terrible. The dialogue is awful but somehow it manages to completely enjoyable in a cheesy sub- b-movie way. I would have no trouble recommending. With a pizza and a couple of six-packs it could be the perfect movie-at-home evening. |

OCCUPATION:FIGHTER. 7 months in the training life of a MMA fighter before his big fight. He doesn't win. Haha. EAST END BABYLON: THE STORY OF THE COCKNEY REJECTS. F*cking great documentary on The Rejects full of all the mayhem and violence that you want. Oddly, it reminded me of the excellent Morris Dancing documentary, THE WAY OF THE MORRIS, in it's mix of history, self identity and how people are shaped by their environment. Micky Geggus and Jeff Turner come across as witty and wise as they reflect back on all the turmoil and chaos of their brief brush with fame until they self imploded in a mass of self created football related violence. An essential documentary for punk rockers and social historians everywhere. Possibly my favourite dvd this year. |
