Interesting that you mention the projection, Nos, as the film was shot using a variety of formats and is supposed to be projected in various aspect ratios. I take it that wasn't the case for you then?

It switched between widescreen and full frame as, I guess, was supposed to be the case, but that wasn't the issue. The problem was the picture was always zoomed in to far so the top and bottom of the picture was not visible.

This isn't the first time this has happened – when I saw The Butler the same thing happened and people looked a little too tall and thin. This is what happens when projection is automated and there isn't a person in the projection booth to ensure the image on screen is in the correct ratio and completely fits the screen, without being too small or too large.

Did you not go and complain to the management about this?

In the past, when I have had to make a complaint regarding this kind of thing, I have been given a refund

I would have, but I didn't want to miss any of the film! I meant to mention it to someone on the way out, but there wasn't anyone around. When I go to see it next week, I'll mention it when I buy my ticket.

A refund isn't an incentive as I have a Cineworld Unlimited card.

Make a complaint to Cineworld customer service on their website.
I always complain about things and they must hate me with a passion by now.

I complained once, about Transformers 3 being out of focus for the whole film. Like you, I did not want to miss any of the film so sat through it.
When I complained, they sent a voucher for free drinks and popcorn.

Thanks for the suggestion – just done it and hope it will be sorted for when I go and see the film again next week.

In the past few days I managed to work my way through my Madmax Trilogy box-set. I also watched Machete as preparation for Machete Kills! which works much better on the small screen (or second time round). I also watched Filth with which I enjoyed, but much less than the first time I saw it.
