I enjoyed The Last Exorcism but didn't rate Captivity at all. It needed to be sleazier.

I didn't care for Captivity much either.

I've never seen The Last Exorcism.

To be honest i wouldn't seek it out B_E. These things are very hit and miss, just because i recall liking it first time doesn't mean it's actually any good.

You're probably right, as all I recall about it is the rigorous marketing campaign with 'Eli Roth Presents' plastered everywhere, which made me want to see it even less.

Not having heard of it I had no preconceptions one way of the other. But I enjoyed while not scary it was creepy and well acted by john cusack. Can see why some won't like it especially if you like films like innkeepers etc. 7.5/10

Madison County - there is not even the faintest whiff of originality in this but, for what it is (a by-the-numbers backwoods slasher), I think it was fairly well executed. It reminded me a lot of the first Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake and there are a lot of elements that have been 'borrowed' from the TCM films in general but, if you're keen on this sub-genre, you could do a lot worse, especially since it can be picked up from Poundland at the moment.

The Boogeyman which I thought was good nonsense and Bloody Moon which I thought was bloody shite.

I'm finding that not many of the video nasties are worth talking about.

A shame you didn't take to Bloody Moon, shel. It's a perverse fave of mine.

Bloody moon is total shite but still I like it. Just me I suppose!

Tonight watched.....

Memory lane.

Interesting but frankly overrated low budget take on flatliners. A war veteran falls to pieces after his girlfriend kills herself. He tries to top himself to and gets a vision of the afterlife and begins to suspect his lady was actually murdered. Kudos for turning out a film that feels fairly professional and tries to do something other than a zombie film on it's micro budget. Falls short against films like primer when you begin to realise about 30 minutes or so in that 90% of the films effectiveness is the score. Pretty much everything else feels like bad fan fiction you find on the internet.

Sabotage.

Arnie leads a team of semi literate rejects from 2019 fall of new york in a mediocre film where a bunch of shit happens that I don't really care about. Honestly I'm sitting here now and the whole endeavour felt meaningless. The real tragedy is Arnie had a much better film out a year or so back called Last stand that got panned and was severely underrated. This however deserved most of the flak. Olivia Williams is far and away the best thing in a movie that's frankly forgettable from beginning to end. I paid a quid for it and that may have been too much.
