I found this one to be pretty average (I don't think it helped that I'm not a fan of Jennifer Lawrence's 'acting' style either) but each to their own etc. !

Watched Carpenters Dark Star,
darkstar.jpg
not watched it for quite a while, one of those films that has not aged well but at the same time is timeless, acting terrible, sets cheap but keeps me glued every time. Must have one of the most outrageous aliens on a budget.

I watched for the first time the feature length documentary (nearly 2 hrs) on the history from thought to finish which was fascinating.

I know what you mean even though I haven't seen a lot of her movies, I've seen enough trailers to see she has a certain 'style'. As for Winter's Bone, as much as I did like it I've just seen the amount of ridiculous awards it won, 76 in total! Me thinks a lot of these groups jumped on the 'pretentious wagon' I'm not sure it deserved all those awards. And yes MTDS I've seen those 'images' too!

Die Hard

AKA back when John McTiernan could make great movies, and in fairness he's responsible for all the great Die Hard films. This one's still a classic and something the Michael Bay's need to study REAAAALLY hard in order to learn the fine art of making an action movie. No rapid editing, nausea inducing camera work or ADD approach to story-telling. Just a witty, suspenseful action movie that continues to deliver.

The Devil's Kiss (1976) Thought I'd dive into a few arrow releases now that I've done with the 60's, (and before I start with the 70's). Never seen this before and probably wont see it again... Took me alnight to see this all the way through, fell asleep, lack of concentration, doing other things, you name it, it got in the way! Thats what happens when you get up early to do last minute xmas food shopping at 6am!

That and the fact the film's a poor excuse for entertainment.
