You might as well. Trebor does.

It's almost a technological sequel to Videodrome, but is nowhere near as accomplished, groundbreaking or thought-provoking. Still good though, and a film which deserves a proper Blu-ray release.

Went to a screening of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies yesterday. Was expecting to be entertained in a throwaway manner but I have to say it was really very well done. Often highly amusing the cast play it straight, the art direction is top notch and the story grabs - was most impressed. Matt Smith seems to be channeling Charles Hawtrey - hysterical.

Creed on Saturday...

Really looking forward to this. Being a Doctor Who fan who thought Smith was a fine Doctor, it sounds one i'd really enjoy.

I own both and have seen them a few times, finding each to improve with each viewing. I can see why Cosmopolis would be an acquired taste (not least because it stars Robert Pattinson, but it's a very intelligent and thought-provoking work.

I thought it would be a better version of the type of horror spoofs we all know are funny in moments but overall tiresome. This was quality fare and any Matt Smith fans will be delighted.

Wyrmwood (2014)

For someone like myself who has become more than a little disenchanted with the zombie sub-genre this was a nice surprise. A little silly at times but it's sort of the point so these things are easily forgiven.

67/100

It's fairly average. Nothing to do with the Demons films. That was how it was sold in the States.

If you want to watch the real Demons 3 then that would be The Church.

Martin (1977)

John Amplas plays Martin in this portrait of an 18 year old vampire.

Written and directed by zombie king George A Romero, this, along with Season of the Witch (1972) proves to be Romero's most thoughtful work as he demythologizes (Is that a real word or have i just made it up?) the classic vampire legend. How? Well Martin believes he's a descendant of Nosferatu but nowhere to be seen are the classic vampire fangs, instead Martin uses a razor to slash his victims wrists which makes the film far more sinister than the majority of vampire films. Gone also are the vampires fear of Christian symbols, garlic, running water or any of the threats that terrified Christopher and Bela.

I don't hold this in quite the same regard as some Cult Labs members, however the film has two outstanding sequences. The sickening assault on a woman in her train carriage and the house break in.

One that improves the more i watch it. Just like Season of the Witch in fact.
