Quite often film makers are up in arms about the BBFC cutting their films due to alleged animal cruelty, Life is a Miracle being a good example, but with Alice Sweet Alice, there has been complete silence. No representatives from the AHA were on the set of the film either. Definitely looked cruel to me.

At the sinema :

The Lovely Bones (Total DOO DOO)
Peter Jackson has gone down hill so much, it's one of the worst films i've ever seen.

On DVD:

Boys Don't Cry - Incredible American Independent Flick
The Class (Estonian) - One of the best portray's of the effects of bullying ever!
The Cove - Absolutely incredible documentary.

Really

I quite enjoyed this, yes its not amazing and a must see movie but it was different and kept me entertained throughout. Was a decent little drama with supernatural edge if you will. Acting was good, story was decent and there not much much wrong with it apart from it didn't have big bang moments but then again it is more of a drama so it should not need it.

Me too.

Sat through Nekromantik. Did absolutely nothing for me whatsoever. Painfully inept, cheaply made, badly acted, and overlong even at 80 mins.

Oh no, really?
This makes me weep Mr Vince.

I love "Nekro". Such a well made film for the budget and it gives off a unique vibe that not even the overlong, rather overblown, sequel could recreate.
It's just so strange, so otherworldly and dreamlike and yet completely grotesque and sickening. And as for that GREAT score......!

That score drove me up the wall - and I don't drive.

Haven't seen the sequel yet. Is it worth visiting?

Er....Not if you did not like "Nekro 1" no.
It's longer and far slower.
A 'My dinner with Andre' joke about up its own arse arthouse cinema for example goes on for SO long it becomes all that it's meant to be a parody of.

Monika M is sexy though and it has a balls-out finale that is very memorable indeed.
But it's too drawn out...And i thought the first film was actually a lean, mean machine! LOL.

I reviewed both ages and ages ago actually...
