It's 78 minutes and well worth a look.

THE CAT MAN OF PARIS (REPUBLIC 1946)

It's 1896 Paris and an author has returned from far away travels.
He starts to feel unwell have blackouts. At the same time murders are committed and the bodies slashed like by a cat.
Suspicion falls on the author as he has motive for the deaths and his gloves are found at one of the murder scenes. He starts to believe that he is indeed the Cat Man of legend...but is he ?

Low budget chiller from Republic. Most of the movie is talk, with everyone discussing the Cat Man and telling the author that he is innocent of the murders. The Cat Man himself appears only briefly in the murder scenes and at the end but there are a couple of spooky scenes as he casts a giant shadow on the wall and when he is seen slowly walking in the park in his top hat. That said the film is enjoyable, never boring and keeps you guessing until the end.

Searching for them online. Some of these Poverty Row horror pictures, PRC, MONOGRAM,REPUBLIC have no releases anywhere. Some time back I set out on a mission to see as many as I could and somewhere way back in this thread was my start with some BOWERY BOYS movies and what I had in my own collection. Some films eluded me until now. My bible for this mission is this book.

I have one more film to watch tomorrow and of the 31 films in the book I would have seen 27.
There are still quite a few borderline horror entries after that...maybe.

[QUOTE=Demdike@Cult Labs;545025]American Graffiti (1973)

That's a great review, in that it makes me want to see it as soon as I can! I love old rock'n'roll too so seems a no brainer.

Thanks, zeroid, much appreciated.

The fact you love classic rock n' roll means you should adore it.

That's right Dem. He has quite a few books out.
THE CREATURE CHRONICLES (Black Lagoon Trilogy) was his last book.
His next book is UNIVERSAL TERRORS part 1 featuring Universal-International films of the 1950's such as TARANTULA, IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE etc..
