This may yet outrank The Beast In Space
A character keeps referring to oofos ....well that's how he's been dubbed anyhow

Print resembles something that has been badly sandpapered btw.

Big Trouble (2002)

Tim Allen goes all John McLane, hitman Dennis Franz is sick of goats and football fans, Stanley Tucci grosses out sucking toes, Tom Sizemore steals a Russian warhead, Jason Lee lives in a tree and Rene Russo's dog hallucinates.

Somehow shit doesn't blow up in Barry Sonenfeld's funny as **** comedy.

Too many delights. Those 'light sabres' make a return as do the blond 'robots'. Psychic battles that are merely alternating close ups of eyes Vic Morrow. (well a close resemblance anyhow) & a pair of lovestruck droids. Beat that Ridley

Easily the equal of TBIS anyhow.

As a fan of the original Anime i still love this live action adaptation yes the story has been simplified for the western audience but i'm not going to slate the film for that. Visually stunning and an excellent soundtrack. Not perfect but still one im glad to have in the collection alongside the Anime collection.

8/10

I really had no idea what i was getting into i avoided reading reviews but still heard a lot of people give really high praise so i had to check out what all the fuss was about.

A couple head to the country to stay with the females parents for the weekend but she had neglected to tell her parents that her new boyfriend is black will he be accepted into the family regardless of his skin colour or will there be awkward tension for the entire trip. Well the answer is YES.

I was really taken by surprise because it was nothing like what i was expecting it to be i was expecting jump scares for some reason and a lot more traditional horror but the twist was nothing new to me so it didn't really come as much of a surprise which was a little disappointing.

Did i enjoy it ? Yes
Would i watch it again ? No

Not a bad film it was interesting but the ending felt very rushed.

7/10

Went to the cinema today to see Annabelle Creation, first time I've been in about 3 months. 12 years after losing their young daughter in a tragic accident, a middle aged couple throw open their large home to a group of young girl orphans and their nun caretaker. But a presence lurks in this home, a dormant evil that is only too happy to be reactivated in the presence of so many new young souls... This prequel to a prequel to the original Conjuring has (unlike the first prequel) gotten pretty good reviews so I decided to check it out and enjoyed it. It's the same old spooky schtick but it's well made and acted and is very entertaining, with some great scares. One of the main little girls in this being terrorised by demonic forces was in last year's Ouija Origin of Evil, being terrorised by demonic forces. Poor lass is going to get a complex...

It stains the sands red.

A woman escaping a zombie epidemic in Las Vegas finds herself forced to walk through the desert after her car breaks down and her boyfriend gets eaten. She makes her way through the desolate sun blasted wilderness while pursued by the zombie that ate her boyfriend. It refuses to give up pursuit, so while she's stronger and smarter than the ghoul, its single mindedness slowly begins to ware her down. As she progresses the journey starts to become one of self discovery.
Its really tough to do anything new with the Zombie genre. Its become something of a cottage industry and at times it feels like you can't throw a stick without hitting one. That said there are still decent ones being made and for me this fell into that category. For the most part its the woman being pursued by the zombie and the film-makers manage to get a lot of mileage out of this. When characters do appear they tend to be rather sleazy and quite dangerous. Its to the films credit that a lot of reveals are done without a ton of exposition and the central characters journey from misfit to survivor is well realised.

Sharknado 5

Pretty much like the last four. So your either going to love it or your not at all bothered. This time there's a bunch of pro-Trump rhetoric thrown in for some odd reason, lots of actresses whose faces might melt if the lights are too bright and the usual trashy cheap effects work. Honestly I'm getting a little tired of them now and the whole 'so bad its good' thing works better when the creative team are genuinely ignorant of the train wrecks they are making, not deliberately manufactured. Makes me want to watch shark exorcist again because that was so bad I'm fairly certain it wasn't intentionally so.

Armed response

A team of black ops specialists have to infiltrate a government facility to find out what happened to the team stationed there. Its a secret installation with a complex A.I designed to assist in interrogation of suspected terrorists. The A.I seems to be messing with the teams minds, however its soon becomes clear that something else entirely might be going on.
Its a bit unfair of me to drop a final judgement on this one as I was pretty tired at that point and drifting off through certain scenes. What I can say is that it appears to be a technically competent horror/thriller that falls into the slow burner category with loads of wandering through dark corridors. I really need to see it again though.

I know K.
We now live in a time where people deliberately make bad films.

I may have to reword this

For all that I scoff about Brescia's work, he seems as keen as mustard as the next chap to make an exciting movie. It's just a pity the next chap is Al Adamson

I digress.

Prisoners of the Lost Universe next then
