Naked Massacre (aka Born For Hell, 1976, Denis Heroux)

Nasty wee exploiter set in Ireland?? Where's this been??? Would make super double bill with Rosie Dixon, Night Nurse ........ if you squinted a lot
This goes right up there with all the other scuzzoids from this period ... and whilst not as strong as Forced Entry, it's no cakewalk.
A smidgen of Taxi Driver by way of the Richard Speck story. Oirish stereotypes lighten the mood begorrah but doesn't tip over into farce.

I just ordered this last night.

I'd never heard of it until last night either.

Welcome to the Dollhouse (1996)

An uncomfortably honest film focusing on what it's like to be an outsider at school. Something which I think most people would have some sort of feeling about. Dawn Wiener is in 7th grade, she has no friends and she's the target of school bullies, sometimes unprovoked but she doesn't help herself either. She is also the middle child to a brainiac older brother and a precocious younger sister, in the eyes of her family she can do no right. It sounds bleak but it's actually a very quotable and very black comedy.

You've probably seen it already if it's the kind of thing you enjoy, it's a classic, and you haven't seen it or heard of it there is a good possibility that you won't like it. However, if you're on the spectrum of John Waters appreciation then you might want to give this one a chance.

I hadn't seen this one since I had a very bad Artificial Eye VHS of it in the 90s with terrible sound quality. Now I've got the DVD and I think I'll be watching it again very soon with my flatmate who always appreciates girls being naughty (that sounds bad but it's very innocent I assure you all haha)

I prefer Happiness but I suppose there is only so far you can go with an 11 year old girl

They didn't have it listed last night.

Aah it all comes to light now.

I decided to have a look at my recently purchased Golem disc (Italian) of Let's Scare Jessica to see what the quality was like - and it's terrific! Positively sparkles!

So went browsing other Golem releases. All named in Italian, i was putting the names of films into IMDB to see what they actually were and E La Notte Si Tinse Di Sangue came up as the unknown to me Naked Massacre. It sounded good so i ordered it.

As for that penny difference? Well the Italian release is actually fifteen pence cheaper anyway.

Golem have released some fascinating stuff - horror, sci-fi, Noir... and all for about £5.70 delivered.
