**** out of *****

I rarely watch them on their own, I tend to think of them as one film split over two parts Kill Bill style

Christmas Evil
A child sees his mum being fondled by Santa Claus. Jump to years later and he is now a man still obsessed with Christmas; working in a toy factory and getting pushed about. So he dresses as Santa and killing people.
Not a bad film, at some points it feels like it's going to be positive film and then he kills. The ending is great and made me giggle.

The Vault (2017)
Sadly this had potential. I'm all for blending a genre or two ... but this fell at the last hurdle.

It stumbled about after two hurdles and ended up in a puddle at the side of the track if you ask me.

Santa Clause 1985

A Peasant wood cutter is given the task of being Santa, brining joy to everyone through the years, and foils a toymaker's plan to take over Christmas.

No matter what age you are you will remember this family festive movie, David Huddleston plays the beloved Santa Clause, Dudley Moore plays the elf Patch, and John Lithgow pays the bad toymaker B.Z.

Over the years, there has been alot said about this movie, that its over or under rated, the acting was well OTT, very slow and boring, but from watching this since i was young this is one the best christmas movie's ever made. 10+

December 10th - The Night Caller (1965)

An obscure British effort from director John Gilling. Scientist John Saxon discovers a meteor which turns out to be an alien device from Ganymede, a moon of Jupiter. Something malignant breaks out of the research centre. Shortly after, teenage girls begin to go missing after answering an advertisement in 'Bikini Girl' magazine. The alien wants to use women from Earth for breeding purposes.

An impressive little film with a great cast. Joining Saxon are Maurice Denham, Patricia Haines, John Carson, Ballard Berkeley and Alfred Burke who all excel in a pacy storyline which is involving and gives everyone a lot to do. Saxon in particular who adapts to leading man status well. On occasions the film veers into Doctor Who territory - a large rubber monster hand is seen molesting women - although the alien hiding out in a sex shop is less a Who motif.

Opening with an impressive tracking shot along the River Thames, the film mixes sci-fi and horror in a contemporary setting adding the odd hallucinatory effect along the way. I have to say i was more than impressed by The Night Caller.

Love The Night Caller. Glad you like it too D.

McB. Mate also had fond memories of that festive flick. Until I ruined it for him after I played him Derek & Clive. Now he can no longer enjoy it.
Well I do have a Grinch tshirt

Hustlers (2013, Wayne Kramer)
This was a recommendation. Enjoying it so far. A portmanteau of sorts focused around a pawn shop. A hoot and a 'Xmas' movie if you squint
The only W Kramer I know is the guitarist in the MC5. So the comm should be interesting ....
