Hatchet for the Honeymoon (1970)

I still can't muster any love for this Mario Bava giallo with added ghostly goings on.

A far more interesting watch was the documentary on the UK Anchor Bay dvd - Mario Bava: Maestro of the Macabre (2000).

An hour long and presented by Mark Kermode, this is a highly watchable take on Bava's life and career with talking head interviews featuring the likes of his son Lamberto and critics Tim Lucas, Kim Newman and Allan Bryce as well as Hollywood luminaries such as Joe Dante, Tim Burton and John Carpenter. Plus of course it features many choice clips from his greatest films such as Black Sunday and Planet Of The Vampires.

Admittedly Bava aficionados won't find many new nuggets here but it's still informative and entertaining, which is all i want from a documentary.

This is what i put here about the doc you mentioned Dem.

On Arrows '5 dolls for an August moon' there is an hour long doc on Mario Bava
called 'Maestro of the macabre' which i found enjoyable.

Seems to be from around the year 2000, with various talking heads such as Kim Newman,Tim Burton and Joe Dante discussing the man and his work, narrated by Mark Kermode (but strangely i can't remember it mentioning '5 dolls' at all).

Worth a watch if you own the disc.

KILLERS MOON (Again!)

Ludicrous Brit Psycho-slasher which is highly entertaining.
Check out the interior/exterior tent scenes!

Continued on the King theme with STAND BY ME (Classic, one of those films you never tire of watching.)

And Sleepwalkers......less said the better!
I actually prefer Maximum Overdrive!
