Also there is that pleasure in ticking things off your watch list, and seeing how things live up to the stills seen in old Horror film books.
I seem to get a higher hit rate of films i enjoy with bizarre shite.

I tend to rewatch cheesy stuff a lot more and find a lot of enjoyment in ham acting, terrible dubbing, bad dialogue or retro fashions/music.

I will watch modern stuff, but about 80% of new stuff doesn't hit my sweet spot.
If i see something i really enjoy on T.V i'll end up picking it up at some point.
Some of the bizarre movies can be decent and I do rewatch stuff when I'm working, some movies I have seen only once or twice and doing a blind buy and hope for the best it's decent

Speak No Evil (2013)

When all the children in a small town disappear dark forces are suspected. However soon all are returned but begin a violent campaign to kill all the adults as the devil nears a return to earth.

A very promising premise which ended up a complete let down. Not due to the films budget or the acting talent but to a script which had no idea how to convert the interesting idea into anything like a good or coherent film.

Tunnels

from the description i was expecting a horror with rats eating and killing people, what i got was a very dull story about two female reporters who goto investigate the sewers after finding a dead rat in the shitter, which leads them to discover homeless people are being taking of the streets and killed so a mall can be built.

the dizzy tarts spend most of there time fighting over who can sit on some blokes face they have just meet. the rat in the shitter was the only rat in the film. 4/10

Dunkirk (2017, Christopher Nolan)

Watched this in tandem with Darkest Hour. Reading the Mosley book has been a goldmine in this respect, as I try to spot figures from the "cast" as such. Dunkirk was prettier than I had imagined. I also rewatched The Prime Of Miss Jean Brodie ... but that's for the next installment (along with a David Warbeck double bill)

We were looking for filming locations from Jean Brodie when we went to Edinburgh last autumn! I don’t know if any of it was filmed around Greyfriars but it looked familiar.

Anatomy of Hell 2004

After being stopped in taking her own life, a woman hires a gay man to her flat for four days to watch her as she arouses herself and engage in sexual illustration of the human body.

This was one strange/weird movie from France, the two main leads Amira Casar and porn star Rocco Siffredi play two people from different walks of life.

The title could be right or wrong in a way, the hell part could be a gay man with a hatred of women being drawn to a woman or is it about learning on how the female body works and be drawn to it.

The film does show sexual content but from a learning point of view on the female body and discussions on a woman's period.

There is a downside to this film that the two main leads seemed to be very uncomfortable and the film only being 80 minutes long seemed very rushed and the dialogue seemed very short in bits. 5 out of 10.

I watched this yesterday. It felt like a tv movie hoping to be picked up as a series.

Breakheart Pass. Charles Bronson is a criminal caught by a US Marshal just before the latter takes off on a military train bound for an isolated outpost devastated by a deadly disease. But it soon becomes apparent that someone intends to make sure many on the train will not reach their destination... This was a pretty solid and entertaining Western murder-mystery/action thriller with a good cast including Richard Crenna, Ben Johnson and Charles Durning. Enjoyable.

Felt the same at the end when they run out of the building like a poor man's Cagney and Lacey( I know they were cops and not reporters)

One of the least sexy 'arthouse' films i've seen.
