I wouldn't say pointless just could have been better story and better background to why the purge become about. But still pretty dire tho .

Frankenstein and The Monster From Hell.

Dr Helder(Shane Briant) is sentenced to 5 years for sorcery in the local madhouse after following in the footsteps of his hero Baron Frankenstein. but surprise surprise, it turns out that the Baron is a inmate as well going under the name of Dr victor, and has full run of the loony bin after discovering some pervy secrets about the director.

this is the last of the Hammer Frankenstein's and was directed by the great Terence Fisher. it's not perfect by a long shot but it still has the whole gothic thing going on and a fantastic performance from Mr Cushing, despite the bouffont wig . and Madeline Smith from The Vampire Lovers plays the role of the mute Sara who helps the Baron with his experiments, and is quit charming indeed despite being a bit prim and proper in this film . Shane Briant also gives a good turn as well who helps the Baron with his latest creation. and David Prowse does his best as the ugly looking ape man creature despite being the most ridiculous looking monster since the box head chap in Evil of Frankenstein.

not bad at all, but did think it was a bit too confined to the asylum. and had to laugh as well at the outside shots of the asylum that looked like cardboard minatures.
Definiately enjoyable though, with some good gore too and with a grim and eerie atmosphere, especially when the great ape is digging up graves 78 out of 100.

Subspecies 1991.

After spending years in exile, vampire Radu returns and seeks out a american tourist to be his bride.

This is a decent modern tale of vampires, Anders Hove plays Radu with long fingers who breaks them off and they become devil minions. The make up is good but the raspy voice gives his appearance more chilling. Not only is it about Radu, he has a human mortal brother who is helping the tourists avoid a bad fate. Angus Scrimm has a small role as their father who exiled Radu. Filmed in Transylvania definetly gives the best gothic tone. 7 out of 10.

Bloodstone: Subspecies 2. 1993.

Radu has his bride but she tries to escape his clutches with the family bloodstone.

This takes places directly where the previous film ended and not many movies match up to its predocessor but this one does, different actress plays the part of Michelle and does it better and Anders Hove returns as Radu and his mother makes an appearance. This is a bit more darker and focuses more on the characters which was well done. 8 out of10.

I like the Subspecies films. All that goes against them is that 90's tv look they have about them.

Noted D ... the covers always put me off back in the day

BlacKkKlansman (Spike Lee)
Art is a mirror. Or so I've always believed. Art is also about perception. White liberal makes film about racism (Suburbicon) which fudges the issue whereas this has the most racisty racism I've seen since Mississippi Burning . Kylo Ren is a Jewish po-lice man who pretends to be someone else in order to join some cult based around laundry by the looks of things. Laundry and hatred. Angry film. Which is far better than that remake wot he dun

Evil of Frankenstein.

baron Frankenstein(Peter cushing) and his assistent Hans(Sandor Eles, the chap out of Countess Dracula) go to stay at the Baron's old castle in Karlstaad were he was forced to leave from several years ago due to his usual crimes for monster making. but finds that the joint has been ransacked and all his valuables stolen.
however they are forced to flee again after the Baron is recognised again and take refuge in the mountains with a mute beggar girl. and as luck would have it though he finds his old creature frozen in a glacier and builds a fire and thaws him out.
And when he eventually gets the monster chap up and running again he's a bit disappointed that he's brain dead and needs the help of the local hypnotist Zoltan to get him going, but Zoltan has a secret agenda.

Got to say that this one is definately the weakest out of all of hammers frankenstein films, mainly due to the worst looking monster ever. apparently it was based on the Boris Karloff look but it fails spectaculary. it looks like somebody just got a box and paper mached his head. Awful.
But if you forget about the terrible looking monster there's still a lot to enjoy in the film, with Cushing as fantastic as ever despite not being quite as evil as the title suggests.
and director Freddie Francis keeps it all going at a lively pace eventhough he's no Terence Fisher, and does some decent sets especially in the laboratory.
And the he beggar girl(katy wild) is also quite good too who has a bond with the monster.

Yes, a okay effort but not a Hammer classic. and i will award 73 out of 100.

Robocop 2
The city of Detroit is being hit on 2 fronts, the first being a new drug going called nuke and the other being the ocp seizing the city. Robocop is focused on the drugs and is then overwritten (briefly) after getting broken up. Squibs explode and a small hint of the satire returns.
All in all not a bad sequel, the fact that both the plots (drugs and corporate) get tied together is nice. The moment where Robocop is all nicey nice is hilarious and some great action sequences.
At least it ain't the 3rd one.

Bloddlust: Subspecies 3. 1994.

Under her curse from Radu, Michelle yearns to be taught how to embrace her vapirism, her sister with some help hope to break her free from Radu.

Taken directly from the previous, this was shot back to back with number 2, was the studio on a tight budget or somteething? Anders Hove and Denise Duff return as Radu and Michelle, this is like a fairytale but with a even darker side. This was a decent third movie with added more tension but still has the darker gothic tone. 7 out of 10
