Island Of Death

A censorship viewpoint is in the Island Of Death thread. As a film I thought it was even more dire than the last time I saw it.

I disagree.
I think it's one of the better so called 'nasties'
I really enjoyed this film
I have the uncut European dvd, which I bought when first released
Better than D'Amato's Anthropopagous and Horrible and many more on the stupid 'list'

I have the uncut version too and for me Anthropophagous is vastly superior.

Default watched films

watched PICNIC AT HANGING ROCK 1975. great film surreal and great score .the story of what happened to 3 schoolgirls and 1 teacher who disappeared while on a picnic at the rock in 1900. ive seen this movie many times and always get the same feeling sheer brilliance from director peter weir. almost want it to be a true story.

District 9 : I really enjoyed this. It is taking ideas from other films but actually using them well. Definitely one that will be worth returning to again.

Ninja Dragon : Cut and paste IFD film that manages to be much more fun than it actually deserves to be.

Halloween II (Zombie) - a solid brutal film but with too many annoying differences and things that bring it away from Halloween tradition.

Went to see [rec] 2 today.

I loved it, as creepy and atmospheric as the original and it revealed more about the story then the first one. Surprised at a sequel being nearly as good as original and not any worse.
My main downside about it was the predictable ending.

I agree it was very brutal Broonage, but it was let down by MM's visions of his "mother"
