The Devil Wears Prada (2006)

What i know about fashion you could write on the back of a postage stamp, well two perhaps, but i love this film.

The fact you don't need to be anything of a fashion expert to enjoy this film means anyone can appreciate a great cast working with a smart and witty script.

If you enjoyed the Harrison Ford film Working Girl then there's a good chance you'll like this. A third time viewing for me. I think you could call this a guilty pleasure (even though i don't really believe in the term) and also a comfort movie haha.

Snatchers

Comedy horror. When a sexual encounter leads to a life changing event, Sara needs all the help she can get ahem .....
quite silly, with some cheeky dialogue. Plus there was a bonus (for me anyhow) of a cameo by Rich Fulcher.
Recommended.

Default The Black Cauldron U 1985

The Black Cauldron.(1985)
After Disney’s The Black Hole, the Black Cauldron has to be there most bizzare and most trippiest of features, and also due to some rather scary imagery dragons, skeletons and such like it, also it features some rather Ralph Bakshi style animation..It was initially given a PG rating that takes it out of the usual Disney rating, which may account for its poor box office at the time . The story is equally as strange, as Taran assistant pig keeper, is left in charge of Hen Wen a psychic pig, who is wanted by the Horned King to find, yes you guessed it the black cauldron which holds great powers. Visually while not up there with greatest of Disney’s animation features, it certainly is a fun watch, and devoid of any musical songs as not to detract from the action. It also features some great voice acting from the likes of Freddie Jones, John Hurt, Nigel Hawthorne and John Houston. The Black Cauldron is a fun romp, although I suspect it was made with one eye on the recent success of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe on television.

Have you seen "Something wicked this way comes"?

That's some pretty dark Disney stuff.

'The Princess And The Frog' (2009) is another dark animation from Disney

It deals with voodoo themes, and features Dr. Facilier as the villain, who is Baron Samedi in all-but name

Justin101 and nosferatu42 like this.

Ghost Keeper. 1982.

A trio of friends snowmobiling find themselves stranded at a rub down lodge where a sinister old lady tries to keep her secrets secure.

A Nice little atmospheric chiller from Canada, only seen this once back in the vhs days while in high school and the old lady gave me the creeps. It has a mark of being a ghost house, to creature feature and slasher movie that was set up decently enough. The acting was good and executed well for the 80s.
The build up to the charcters was done well and may seem a tad long but can be overlooked as the kills are making up for it as well as the ending that may be unexpected.

Unfaithful (2002)

Director Adrian Lynne returns to the erotic thriller genre, the genre he made his name, with mixed results.

Unfaithful is a slick thriller, well made and acted, solid but unremarkable, as the excellent and utterly gorgeous Diane Lane's wife embarks on a passionate affair with Olivier Martinez as wealthy hubby Richard Gere, immediately begins to suspect illicit meetings.

The second half improves the film no end and we get a little suspense and thrills. Unfaithful doesn't venture into psycho-thriller territory, concentrating on the dilemma at hand for Lane and Gere. however the ambiguous ending is unsatisfying although it does mean we can make up our own mind as to what came next.

A Beautiful Day In The Neighbourhood

I cried during this, and am not really sure why
I did really like that documentary.
