Come to Daddy.

Not a prequel to Hellraiser about Frank!

A man tries to reconnect to the father that left when he was a young boy, when he receives a letter to come and see him.

We soon learn that his farther appears not to be firing and all cylinders and is unhinged and tries to kill his son but promptly has a heart attack.

This is when things hit the fan and the son starts to hear and seeing things and he seems to be being watched. Not going to spoil the plot anymore as plenty of twists and film has a very dark vain of comedy running through it and extremely violent in places. Woods gives a great performance but dear god he doesn't suit that pudding bowl haircut and that porn star mustache! 7.5/10

Default Critters 2 & Robocop 2

Critters 2

Critter eggs that were seen at the end of the 1st film are mistaken for Easter Eggs during the town's festivities. Brad returns home along with The Bounty Hunters. I remember enjoying this film when I rented it and it's still enjoyable now and it's a regret that I never re-watched it until today. It also managed to balance the seriousness of the attacks with comedic element. It was funny seeing one of the Bounty Hunters trying to transform into looking like Freddy Kruger. It's recommended along with the 1st film.

Robocop 2

I remember renting it when it 1st came out on Video and may have watched it another time so therefore I barely remember what happens in this film. It's not bad but not a patch on the original. Must admit the actor who played the criminal kid played the role so well, I wanted him to get his comeuppance. Also I believe James Cameron may have gotten his inspiration for Avatar from that Sunblock 5000 commercial.

G.B.H. 1983.

A recently released ex-bouncer is asked to be a bouncer for a small club where the local gangsters try to take over.

One question, was this movie released to cinema or was it a made for T.V. movie? With a tagline "More brutal than The Long Good Friday" this had me intrigued. It was probably brutal back then but now this was F&*king tame. The acting was not great even though the actors have moved on to better things, the fight scenes seem so daft and very bad editing doesn't help. You can only laugh at this film now.

D.E.B.S. A young female spy finds herself being romanced by a young female super-villain in this wacky mid-2000s spy spoof/romantic comedy. Very silly, very cute, very fun, always been one of my "guilty pleasure" favourites from the 2000s, and still is.

Philomena (2013)

Stephen Frears directs this Oscar nominated British drama in which BBC journalist Martin Sixsmith helps a woman who was forced to give up her son for adoption

Based on a true story, Philomena is a wonderful film. It's a film that made me laugh, it's a film that pulled at my heart strings, it's a film that brought a poignant tear to my eye as well as making me angry and it's also a film i found remarkably uplifting.

Both Steve Coogan and Judi Dench are an absolute delight and basically carry the film entirely, their rapport is genuinely life affirming in what is a film of rare beauty despite it's at times bleak story.

Default The Irishman

The Irishman.
Well at 3.1/2 hrs long I felt like I had been taken out to the car park and shot in the back of the head and left in a dumpster.
Scorsese like his favourite actors are getting old,but he and neither has his mates have lost any of there magic, that said some of the de-aging effects did look odd at times, but the acting shone through it all.All three leads ,Pesci,De Niro and especially Pacino were at there best..Keitel was under used but Stephen Graham was excellent as Tony Pro....I just had to rewatch Goodfellas and Casino again.

Delighted you enjoyed it, Shaun.

The fact that it's well acted really helps make the film convincing. Plus i love the final scenes.

An axe murderer is stalking a sleepy town not used to any sort of crime apart from the odd bar fight. There are plenty of shady characters in this town so anyone could be to the killer.

There is a real mixture of acting talent in this from decent to people who keep mixing up their lines and mispronouncing normal words its bloody hilarious. Two of the main lead actors are two assholes the bug killer and the computer geek they just both have this cocky manner about them that feels really out of place in their scenes.

When it comes to the kills its a mixture between cut aways and full on in your face but it's always entertaining. When they show the kills the killer really goes to town where actually looks like the actor is having the time of his life

7/10
