The Beast Must Die. This mid 70s werewolf whodunnit has a great cast including Peter Cushing, Charles Gray, Anton Diffring, Michael Gambon and Tom Chadbon, but is a bit of a snoozer on the whole. I did lol at the scene where the "wolf" attacks the helicopter pilot, while clearly wagging its tail.

PATTON (1970)

Excellent movie which follows Patton's battles in North Africa, Italy and then on to the Western front and the 'Battle Of The Bulge'.
George C Scott is excellent as Patton and the film also deals with his competing with Montgomery. Great battle scenes and it's a wonder no one was killed under those tanks during filming!

Black Rain. 1989.

Two New York cops arrest a yakuza memeber and escort him back and end up handing him over to the wrong people. They team up with a police inspector to track down the member and stop a counterfeit ring from happening.

This film explores the different cultures of police forces between New York and Japan from the 80s perspective aided by director Ridley Scot,t in contrast Japanse always follow the rule book while Michael Douglas and Andy Garcia seem to bend the rules so they can get ahead of the cat and mouse chase. Aside from Wall Street this is one of Michael Douglas's best roles as the tough NYPD detective. Hans Zimmer provides a top notch back ground score that goes with great cinematography.

I agree with you on Nordi, it's one that seems to slip through the cracks of a decent release.

Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. Chosen as the olive branch to begin peace talks between the Federation and the Klingon Empire, Captain Kirk and the Enterprise crew instead find themselves set up as assassins following an attack on the Klingon vessel that seems to have originated from them. The final outing for the original cast has long been one of my favourite Star Trek movies, and still is. A thoroughly engaging political conspiracy thriller in the Trek universe, with the cast on fine fettel. The Shat is particularly magnetic throughout.

Cthulhu. 2007.

A history professor travels back to his home county to execute his late mother's estate and gets drawn into a series of escalating events and discovers his father's new age cult.

This is the second time i have seen this film and i'm still puzzled by it as it seems to start off interesting then slowly goes off the plot then back to being interesting. The acting isn't the greatest even having Tori Spelling in it doesn't really do much justice for the film. The Town which it was filmed in Astoria, Oregon was rattled with problems and caused a few delays for filming that everyone though the town was cursed or just a coincidence. Think a open mind is in order to view it and don't look at the name of the title.

War is hell but sometimes the real hell is what you left behind.

A group of friends return home from Nam trying to fit back into society but its not as easy as that its hard to get into the run of things the brotherhood is no longer there and it can be lonely when only your army family has your back and there is no one else you can trust. The friends go their separate way but they are eventually brought back together when one of them is murdered by a street gang to whom he refused to pay protection money left devastated by the death his father reaches out for help and his army buddies drop everything to come and get revenge.

A mixed bag of bad acting and cheesy action The Annihilators is entertaining to a degree i would of preferred a little more action i like the characters and the look at how hard some people find it to adjust after coming home from war. In its set up it was very much Death Wish 3 but lacked the excitement and violence for the amount of torture the gang put the people through i wanted satisfying revenge but it never really reached that level most of the kills were boring but i still found it entertaining to watch. Im not sure i would watch it again anytime soon but still one im happy to own.

Platinum Blonde (1931)

So,so early Frank Capra effort that disappoints overall. Despite being headlined by Jean Harlow - as a heiress who seduces a hard working reporter into a marriage of convenience - in her breakthrough performance she has very little to do, the same goes for Loretta Young but when they do have screen time both shine.

Although not particularly funny or indeed saucy, there's a single risque scene of a naked but covered Harlow getting a massage, the dialogue sparkles with innuendo at times and it's always watchable if not particularly memorable in the end.

Ben is finding it hard enough to accept the death of his sister without the news that she may have been killed because she is a werewolf. It takes some convincing but when a video surfaces of her killing he has no choice but to team up with an occult expert to stop more people becoming victims of a werewolf gang terrorizing the US. To get to the source they must travel to Eastern Europe and track down the head werewolf.

The Howling 2 gets off to a good start but it soon goes the opposite way and it pretty much carried by Christopher Lee and Sybil Danning,s acting "talents". Most of the cast just don't seem too arsed with dialogue delivered in a half hearted manner the actors are almost sniggering as they go through the motions. There are some good moments but they are few and far between as much as im sure Christopher Lee may have known this was really beneath him he stuff captivates in every scene. Thats bloody band that keeps appearing over and over again are bloody dire they constantly wrecked my head playing the same annoying tune over and over

Really wanted to enjoy this but the actors didn't help i have seen more convincing performances in Coronation Street.
