The Netflix thumbnail posted doesn’t look as fun! Adjustments.jpg

Watched Robert Eggers The Lighthouse last night after a blind buy bought off the back of The Witch.
Now i must admit first viewing of The Witch left me a little underwhelmed but the second time under better circumstances it blew me away. But The Lighthouse? Its an altogether different beast and I'm damned if i know what to make of it. I'm not at all convinced a second viewing will do it either and frankly I'm not sure i want to watch it again.
An old lighthouse keeper, Thomas and his lackey Ephraim take up their post on a remote lighthouse somewhere off the coast of New England for a four week stint of drinking, masturbating and farting. Not much else happens but it all looks very atmospheric and doomy. Drinking, masturbating and farting aside of course.

Did you know that Netflix uses an array of thumbnails and it's clever computer brain will show you the one it thinks will best sell the film or show to you! It doesn't always work though...

I did not know that! Interesting though. Algorithms everywhere trying to hack into my brain! I visited the Deutschland Espionage Museum last year and it made me super paranoid about these kind of things! Haha. I’m away to put my tinfoil hat back on!

Could do with a little more polish (and a few more extras) but a decent, workmanlike offering. Keep well away from little ones though, far too much blood and death, and an added dose of strong language.

I HAVE to give it a 19/10 for being a Deathstroke movie
I enjoyed it was a lot better than the man of tomorrow animated movie.

The Hater

IMDb 7.1

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt9506474/

62 reviews around 8 give it less than a 7, the rest give it 7 onwards.
I’ll check it out when I’ve got time .

Is this thread now 'What films are you thinking of seeing?'?
