Now i must admit first viewing of The Witch left me a little underwhelmed but the second time under better circumstances it blew me away. But The Lighthouse? Its an altogether different beast and I'm damned if i know what to make of it. I'm not at all convinced a second viewing will do it either and frankly I'm not sure i want to watch it again.
An old lighthouse keeper, Thomas and his lackey Ephraim take up their post on a remote lighthouse somewhere of New England for a four week stint of drinking, masturbating and farting. Not much else happens but it all looks very atmospheric and doomy. Drinking, masturbating and farting aside of course. | I watched it a few weeks ago but didn't bother reviewing it as i could barely remember anything about it the day after.
