Gor Met: Zombie Chef From Hell (1986, Don Swan)

A 600 year old shuffler runs a bar & grill to pass the time whilst waiting for the lighting rig to turn up
A hoot. The plot sheeeesh .... decent enough claret and another bleak wee treat this one.

Fatal Images (1990, Dennis DeVine)

Grim wee thing. Remember what I said about that awful Polaroid ?? Well, this shows you just what you can do with that storyline. Another example of just how free this genre is in terms of closure.

What a lovely movie, keeps you in the edge of your seat until the big reveal in the end.

Recommend.

I am a giant film/book/comic nerd, I used to do conventions, binge-watch tv shows (before it became the norm) and THINK too much about stuff like this.

Liked the first Wonder Woman movie, but it AMAZES ME how this amount of information (and complaining) can be done about a movie that's been out for a week.

The fact that everyone & their granny is now doing videos like this ("Don't thank the studio until you've seen your rotten tomatoes score?" Most people posting on these review sites have seen about three films in their life & I don't think should be chucking their two pence in because Wolverine's sideburns are the wrong length!!!) is depressing & it feels like William Shatner needs to remind people to get a life.

It's probably ok & I'll watch it, but maybe "listen to the fans" is not such a great idea, or we'll have films made to order.

*prepares for backlash

I watched Prom Night last night its been so long since i last watched it. Is it just me or is it pretty poor its mostly a dance film where a slasher was shoe horned in at the end. Not much of a review just more of an observation

Yep, it's poor. The sequels are just as bad.

Scott of the Antarctic (1948)

Grueling portrayal of Captain Scott's ill fated trek to be the first man to reach the South Pole as stiff upper lips remain stiff thanks to the freezing cold.

Pack horses are shot and eaten, fingers become frozen and gangrened, as do feet in the intense cold... They should have shoved Greta Thunberg into Scott's tent to lecture on global warming...they'd have eaten her within two minutes.

For a British film from 1948 this looks stunning and the whole thing is quite an achievement

I watched Prom Night part 2 and 3 recently, the second one is the best.
It's attempts to do a female Freddy vibe, as dead prom queen Mary Lou returns to kill off people responsible for her death and is very full on 80s cheese, it's no masterpiece but i enjoyed it.
And it's got Micheal Ironside in it.

The 3rd continues the Mary Lou rampage but is a bit naffer.

There's a 4th but it's unrelated and i couldn't be arsed.
