That artwork is great BS! Really creepy (crawly).

I watched Ratman again last night - again I enjoyed it. Even if the ending is pretty sudden  The little rat/monkey midget man is pretty freaky!

I hate the way people claim that Warbeck uses his own voice when it's clearly not.

Also did you know that Giuliano Carnimeo was sacked as director and replaced by Producer Fabrizio De Angelis?

iluvdvds@Cult Labs 1st October 2009 12:41 PM

Nah, I never knew that Loops. Do you know why he was sacked? :)

Pete 1st October 2009 12:49 PM

Apparently because he didn't 'get' it.

iluvdvds@Cult Labs 1st October 2009 01:16 PM

Did'n't 'get' it! :pound: There's not MUCH to get though - blood, tits and killer rat dwarf

Pete 1st October 2009 01:18 PM

Ha i know! A kid could have done it!

mbv 1st October 2009 10:47 PM

Had a Bava family night!!

Macabre-Arrow
Great DVD and package, love the artwork/poster and booklet, pity a lot of other companies don't put as much effort into their releases.
Anyway, really enjoyed it. Didn't know what to expect as I'd only ever seen Demons 1 and 2 by Bava Jnr.
Kinda had a real Hitchcock feel to the build up of suspense. Loved the ending too!

Mask of Satan(from the Bava boxset)
I've been missing this for years!:mmph: Every scene just oozes gothic atmosphere so much so I didn't know what was going on at one stage! I was just enjoying the sets etc! Impressed with some of the FX especially when they remove the mask from the witch.
This is defo a movie that stands up with the best of what Universal were doing in the 30's and Hammer were doing at their peak.

2nd day of werewolf films

ginger snaps
http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i2...69/ginger3.jpg

i really like this film i just enjoy the way that the most of film is about the girls transformation into a wolf, even if the end result looks a bit naff. 7/10

the company of wolves
http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i259/aoki69/wolf.jpg

great film, i dont know why i havnt watched it sooner,it sort of reminded me of a Terry Gilliam film. 8/10

DeadAlive 3rd October 2009 08:41 AM

I like the Ginger Snaps series, especially the first film.

DeadAlive 3rd October 2009 08:56 AM

Almost forgot. Watched "My Bloody Valentine". Great sound effects....crap film.

Original or Remake?

Philleh 3rd October 2009 09:54 AM

Watched Jennifer's Body last night, pretty decent stuff but it looses itself at the end and features some of the worst dialogue to ever stink up a movie.

iluvdvds@Cult Labs 3rd October 2009 10:31 AM

I remember reading some of the script of Jennifer's Body and thought that it's dialouge was terrible. Meh.

Watched Let The Right One In last night. It was really good, don't get me wrong, but it wasn't AMAZING! Maybe I was going into that film thinking it would be a horror film, when really its more of a drama but with vampires. It was really clever and pretty damn beautiful too though. Just don't go in expecting a horror.

Philleh 3rd October 2009 10:37 AM

Yeah, there are some right clunky lines in there - especially during the finale! Ugh.

Read the book of Let The Right One In now dude, you'll see why it's classed as a horror flick after reading that bad boy! :fear:

iluvdvds@Cult Labs 3rd October 2009 11:07 AM

Yeah, the book does sound interesting, Philleh. Apparantly there's some pedophillia in there though :S

Philleh 3rd October 2009 11:18 AM

It does, but it's what makes the novel too - gives it teeth and a coldness the film has substituted for warmth.

Angel 3rd October 2009 07:59 PM

I Spit on Your Corpse, I Piss on Your Grave.

Quite possibly the worst film I have ever seen.

Kyle 3rd October 2009 08:08 PM

really! i didnt think it was that bad :behindsofa:

Kyle 4th October 2009 12:46 AM

3rd day of my werewolf week

ginger snaps unleashed
http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i2...ingerSnaps.jpg

another good film, this time its about Bridget trying to keep herself from turning into a werewolf and from keeping a male werewolf from mating with her but she gets herself locked in a addicts ward, she then teams up with a kind of cool but mental young girl named ghost who wants to help her. 8/10

the howling 2

http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i2...-three-way.jpg

this has got to be the worst film ever made, everything about this film was shit the film even manages to get a werewolf 3way wrong
avoid at all cost

iluvdvds@Cult Labs 4th October 2009 09:46 AM

I managed to see Toy Story 3d at the 02 last night, and it was sooo good! Brings back memories! I was only 5 when it came out, so it really is a part of me childhood! It was great!

And plus it looked excellent too, not just the 3D, but the colours and EVERTHING!

I was thinking of watching some of The Howling sequels... definitely won't now! Thanks for the warning!

vincenzo 4th October 2009 11:39 AM

Yes Howling II is an absolute clunker. The lowest point of Christopher Lee's 80's film career. :faint2:

You not seen Troll 2 Bitchslicer? I think that beats H2 hands down

vincenzo 4th October 2009 11:51 AM

It's a toss-up which is Lee's worst. Howling II or Police Academy VII. :fear:

Stephen@Cult Labs 4th October 2009 11:53 AM

Hey,your talking to a man here who bought the Police Academy boxset :woot:

vincenzo 4th October 2009 12:07 PM

Lee also popped up as the college president in Jocks, which is actually worse than the title suggests. :tsk:

mbv 5th October 2009 07:13 AM

Ghoulies Oh dear this is a movie I loved when I was younger. It is so bad. Too much crap about the dude doing the ritual and not enough ghoulies!
