watched the remake of Das Experiment last night, Was very good for a remake, probably one of the best remakes. Great Cast with Adrian Brody and Forest Whitaker. Definitely worth a watch. Loved the original too...

Women Behind Bars - tedious WIP flick. Very tame by Jess Franco standards - I couldn't find anything in the film that the BBFC would object to today. Yes, Lina is an attractive gal but I prefer Martine Stedil if it's all the same.

Personally I don't mind subtitles - I'd estimate that over 30% of my DVD collection has them - but I do know quite a few people (My wife included.) who do not share my enthusiasm for reading as you watch. I can see why the remake from a purely money making aspect, but I think with Let Me In they have gote a strong cast and a director who loves the source material.

Hey, mercury. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (original) is well worth tracking down.
Its on my to get list DeadAlive. the only question is to go for Bluray or not

Buried - probably one of the most powerful films I've ever seen and definitely the best film I've seen all year!

I saw that at the cinema yesterday and, whilst it's not the best thing I've seen all year, it is still an extremely engrossing movie that draws you in extremely well. I guessed what was going to happen at the end quite a while before it actually happened but that didn't spoil it too much as Ryan Reynolds' performance was very good and the direction is taut and powerful.

I guessed as well. But, like you say, it didn't spoil it. I think there comes a point when you realise it can only end one way... But maybe that's the point of the film?

Ryan Reynolds is amazing in it I think. To carry a film alone like that is no mean feat. I think if it was nearer December he'd be getting some Oscar buzz.

I imagine there would be some Oscar attention if it was a more 'respected' film, if that doesn't sound too patronising! If he does get a nomination, it will be an extremely left-field decision.
