Watched Survival of the Dead. I'd been warned against it and, although it wasn't as bad as I was expecting (partly because I kept my expectations as low as was humanly possible), I think it's time to throw in the towel with the Dead movies. Aside from the fact that it was pretty mundane, Romero seems to have drifted so far from his original ideals and it's depressing to watch it happen.

Thankfully it was free on Instant Netflix.

Watched Tenebrae last night and it was great. My favourite Argento film yet! Can't wait for the release now.

The Commander - The final part of the Lewis Collins / Antonio Margheriti trilogy. Not bad but not a patch on Margheriti's earlier jungle action films. Good on Movies4Men for showing the lovely looking remastered version.

BABY LOVE, one of the late Joe Sarno's Swedish soft porn films. Not bad.

COLOR ME BLOOD RED, blood, guts and pedalo action.

CASTLE FREAK, a meditation on grief and the loss of a child or knock-kneed, no knob, pussy eating mayhem. I rather enjoyed it either way.

The Evil Dead (BD) -- it's the wrong shape! Why did they crop the film and make it 1.78:1 rather than just presenting it in the OAR of 1.33:1? There are numerous shots where the top of people's heads have been cut off and it just looks really badly framed. The film is great but I'm glad I rented rather than bought the BD
