Joker. 2019.

Joaquin Pheonix stars as Arthur who is basically mad as the mad hatter and uncontrollable fits of laughter trying to be a stand up comedian and grabs a audience attention and spirals downwards. Finally I actually sat down to this and totally enjoyed it, at least at the end Arthur eventually did capture his audience and got the standing ovation he always wanted.

The Batman. 2022.

The guy from Twilight being Batman is it possible...well it is, on the prowl looking for someone leaving cryptic messages and killing officials. Jeffrey Wright steps in to play Gordon who is bossum buddies with the dark knight and Colin Farrell as club owner Ozzy. Second time seeing this and is a lot better with this viewing with a good mix of the dark gothic atmosphere.

Romeo Must Die. 2000.

Jet Li stars as Han Sing who has escaped from prison after hearing his brother was murdered and gets involved in a business deal that his father is trying to negotiate. Another businessman also trying to make a deal and Han is teaming with the daughter and both try to figure out who killed their brothers.

Li's performance in mainstream American debut is decent and doesn't need anyone dubbing over his voice and decently choreographed fight scenes. Aaliyah plays small business owner and daughter of local gangster who wants to go straight. Russell Wong and Isaiah Washington play the henchmen who want the big deals to go through. This has been a decent action flick with nice cinematography that shows the inside of a body when a bone is broken or heart being pierced.

Kill 'Em All. 2017.

After a shootout, a wounded man walks into a hospital and then a group of men storm the hospital. Two agents question a nurse who survived the mass shootout and try to uncover how she survived.

JCVD may be looking old but still managed to pack a punch and basically get his ass kicked while nursing a severe headache. Peter Stormare and Maria Conchita Alonso play the good cop and bad cop agents trying to uncover the truth from nurse Autumn Reeser. This film does go back and forth with the flash back but luckily enough it doesnt get the audience confused but you can almost predict the ending. Worth a watch but don't expect it to be spectacular.

Woodchipper Massacre (Jon McBride)

I'm sure I reviewed this before
Cure your deafness with this one, as the cast all shout a lot for some reason. Being lumbered with a unwelcome babysitter? What is this, the Calvin & Hobbes Movie?
Regardless, this suburban slush kept my attention. The title is exploitation gold, the film isn't
Lawdy.

Unwelcome (2023, Jon Wright)

Folk horror ... ish.
After inheriting a house in Ireland, a young expectant couple up sticks and move from that London for ... reasons cough.
Receiving a reasonable warm welcome, they settle in.
When an old tradition is discovered to be part of the tenancy ... well, it's not Location Location Location is it?
Enjoyed this on the whole, certain elements aside.
Recommended? Hmmm. Go on go on go on ...

Sorority Sisters In The Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama 2. 2022.

The Pi-Ep house has very few sisters since the unexplained killings years before, Ginger, Devon and Bitsy are the new pledges lead by Sarah and Tiffany who go to the Bowl O Rama with Bart, Dinger and Turkey for the initiation.

This is certainly a homage to the 80s with the disco theme intro music, bad cheesy acting and lame special effects. Brinke Stevens returns to this with a a small role and as director along with co star Michelle Bauer who have been trapped with the imp from the first film.

Brinke obviously wanted to do a homage to Nightmare Sisters with having Audrey Neal, Glory Rodriguez and Hannah Tullett sharing a shower...before you start drooling guys it ain't as hot as it sounds, it seems to get interesting then the camera pans away. The original had its moments of laughs but this wasn't funny and at 62 mins it feels longer.

A enjoyable TV movie that's adds supernatural element to the aeroplane disaster movie. Parts of an ancient druid ruins are being transported on a commercial flight , strange and evil things start happening and people start dying a battle of survival begins. This works because of the great cast which includes chuck Connors, Paul Winfield , Buddy Ebsen, Roy Thinnes but the high light is William Shatner as a alcoholic priest who has lost his faith. It might be a low budget TV movie that's 50 years old but it's still a lot better than most films we see today .

Actually forgotten just how good this was, it's quite cleaver , the twist loses its impact after the first watch but it was a brilliant and unexpected twist. It's not as violent as it was made out too be , but the foot hacking scene is a hard watch not because of what you see, you see hardly anything but what your imagination makes you see, with screaming and sound of the saw.

Now watching

Maniac (1963, Michael Carreras)

Self stranded in the Camarague, an american artist falls in with a local bar owner, agreeing to help her with ... a small problem ... from her past. Or does he?
Liked this one, lots of Brit actors trying out their Frrunch accents galore, and the scenery made a nice change of pace from some trees
Ahem.

Unhinged. 2020.

Single mother Caren Pistorius driving her son to school and toots her horn at the driver in front, unfortunately the driver is Russell Crowe who is having a bad day.

This was decent, ok may be a bit far fetched but watching Crowe being a unstable road rage driver is something new for him and being a calm person in a diner with Jimmi Simpson can only lead to a tense moment as we see how deranged he is and waiting for him to flip out. It does give out a warning on who you honk your horn at and never do your make up while driving. One id gladly watch again.
