![]() Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story. 2004. A owner of a run down gym competes in a dodgeball tournament with some of his members only to find out his competitor who owns the gym next to him is also competing also. Every so often a slapstick comedy comes along and watch it constantly then forget about it then you decide to watch it and remember how hilarious it is. Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller stars as the gym owners competing for the big money. Stiller's character is well written as the rich honcho who relies on his looks that can make him 'Real Frickin' Naughty' and Rip Torn as the ageing dodgeball champion who doesnt have much luck of the Irish. If you can dodge a wrench you can dodge a ball. 4ed777dd-0d9f-42ef-b320-82601d15baaa.jpg

![]() Dressed To Kill. 1980. Brian De Palma springs into his element of delivering a intense, dreamy, erotically charged thriller, with Michael Caine as psychiatrist being stalked by a patient, Angie Dickenson as his over sexed patient who doesn't mind a bit of a backseat bunk up in a taxi with a fellow passenger while the taxi driver gets a free show. Nancy Allen as the high earning...lady that delivers a lot pleasure to men who witnesses a murder and Keith Gordon who seems like the unsurprisingly hero of the hour. This was the first-time seeing this and it's one that I thought I'd never enjoy but surprisingly I did, a few good twists and turns that I wasn't expecting. Dennis Franz always seems to be a hot head in films and in this he is a bit more calmer playing the detective who gives out one or two surprise moments. After the murder we are thrown into the mystery of the blonde woman and second guessing as to who it is then its revealed and the answer why is a bit interesting. There is a unintentional or intentional funny moment with Nancy and Keith in a restraunt and a elderly lady eavesdropping on their conversation that you can only laugh at her expression. large_b9RHUexTE6MT5x6iZ2Wmq56H1cJ.jpg

![]() Deathmoon. 1978. Robert Foxworth plays Jason who is stressed out by work and his doctor suggests he takes a holiday and heads to Hawaii, what Jason doesn't know is that his family bloodline is cursed. This was a made for T.V. Movie which I seem to have come across and enjoyed a few, but this was not the best, the character seems to be making one or to dumb decisions, the creature make up was decent and almost the same as Lon Chaney's Wolf Man. The gore is very minimum and the attacks were predictable. Not exactly edge of your seat film, maybe a second viewing of this will happen. md-front-release-24276-1561285888-367.jpeg

![]() Winnie The Pooh: Blood And Honey (2023, Rhys Frake-Waterfield) Shoving trauma porn into a slasher flick. That's where we are at now. To be fair, a few shots here were creepy AF. A few. Otherwise, it was business as usual. It starts reasonably, with the parody narration and that, but just jettisons that for the sake of ... what now? Not tension or suspense. Shame. Charming ending for all that. The Abomination (1986) Found a slightly betterer print on the YT. Still mad as bats, kind of like if Troma made The Deadly Spawn? VS or AGFA need to be putting this one out sharpish!!! ![]() ![]() ![]()

![]() p11225500_p_v8_aa.jpg Rookie cop Jessica has an unusual first day on the job when she is sent to guard a station that is just about to close down but there is some hazardous evidence in a lock up that needs to be collected. Jessica is left alone until the hazard guys show up with all calls transferred to the new station one strange call keeps slipping through with a young girl begging for help from Jessica but the call me er lasts long enough to get too much detail. Apart from the strange phone call other strange things start to happen around the station making this one first day she will never forget. Went into this with a very positive feeling with the praise this film gets but I didn't take long before I started losing interest. It's starts out with a great idea but it just got a little boring I have seen this compared to Assault on Precinct 13..... SAAAAAY WHAAAAAT. The feeling of claustrophobia and been trapped is gone when Jessica seems to just walk in and out of the building any time she feels like and her choosing to go back inside really detracts from the dangers inside. I didn't get the creepy atmosphere that most people seem to talk about it just felt flat to me and all the figures just flashing behind her then they are not there has been done so many times and much better too. I heard over the weekend that there was a remake of this happening by the same director maybe with more if a budget he might manage to make this work but honestly that's not an excuse to make a bland film when many more can achieve so much more on a shoe string. Not for me.

![]() barbarian-2022-review.jpg On a miserable dark wet night a lone female in town for a job interview pulls up outside her rented Air BnB. After forcing herself out of her car into the rain she discovers the keys to her accommodation are missing. Trying to contact the people who she rented the place from she cant get an answer returning to her car to shelter from the elements and plan her next move suddenly a man appears at the door just as startled as she is it would appear the place has been doubled booked . After some time chatting and hopelessly trying to get a hotel room they decide that he will take the couch and she will take the bed until they can sort something out the next day. What seems like a risky situation escalates but not for the reasons one might expect when two strangers take a chance on each other but inside this house things are far darker than they appear from the outside. Barbarian gets off to a great start obviously the decision making right off the bat is a little stupid but no bad decisions no film so we look past that one ![]() When things really kick off you might be forgiven for thinkinh aw for f**k sake after the start of the film would suggest it's going to be a different sort of film entirely but it is quite sinister and disturbing althought not in your face with gore or explicit details it's what we don't see that makes this so dark even little subtle details after the film is over and you think back it's full of so many unsettling little things that really stuck with me since last night. Its easy to take it all at face value and think well that's rediculous but there is a lot going on under the surface if you really pay attention. I really loved Justin Longs character what a little weasley scum bag he is. I really enjoyed it and it has improved as I think even more about it and let it all settle in. The soundtrack also deserves a special mention really gets under the skin brilliant. I really hope that can be classed as a review for how vague it was ![]() It's a thumbs up from me.
