Not showing up on amazon de.

Reaper, I got this from Xploited (there's three different covers to choose from - I chose the limited, numbered cover, only 500 apparently printed).

I think it was $24.99 plus postage. You get the film uncut in anamorphic 2.35:1 with Italian, German and English audio options. There's also a trailer in German. It comes in one of those oversized book-style cases. Hope this helps. :)

Personally I'd hope for Shameless to release this ...

saw 24th July 2008 07:10 PM

... I almost forgot to say, it's listed as "Enigma Rosso" on Xploited (even though the title on the cover is Orgie Des Todes).

I've just checked - they have the limited cover in stock for $25.95, and the other two covers in stock at $22.95 each. Hope this helps. :)

Watched Bigus Luna's 'Anguish' last night - WOW!!!

Halloween_22 25th July 2008 11:10 PM

Just bought a R1 Collectors edition of one of my favourite films, 'The Boondock Saints'. Excellent film, The end scene in the courtroom is awesome

Anyone else seen it?

iluvdvds@Cult Labs 26th July 2008 10:31 AM

Just saw the UNCUT version of 'I Spit On Your Grave' - so much better than the cut version (obviously) 4.5/5!

Thanks again Vip!!!!!!!! :)

I hope your wife is aware of this. I can just see it now...

*reaper's porn stash is found by his wife....*

"That's it, that's the last time I take you to Wicker Man county, and no dinner for you either tonight".

Joking aside I have that film in Something Weird's Sexy Storybook box set, I have volumes 1 and 2 ;).

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 26th July 2008 09:13 PM

Who needs feckin dinner?
So I've inadvertently bought porn have I ?
Is Vorderman in it?:D

cloud 26th July 2008 09:17 PM

True, I never eat while watching porn ;)

You should have got the Sexy Storybook sets while they're still in print. There are some very whacky films on them, absolute treasures. It's a shame SW are only doing DVD-rs now as most of their releases have been outstanding in every way imaginable. Especially their Andy Milligan discs.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 26th July 2008 09:22 PM

Managed to get Milligan's discs....THE BODY BENEATH is absolute shite, but I like it,there's something about it......

iluvdvds@Cult Labs 27th July 2008 11:01 AM

:)

Watched Amando De Ossorio's "Tombs Of The Blind Dead" - 3.5/5

Great story, FANTASTIC zombies! Superb ending and zombie rising scenes. Great little spanish zombie exploitation too. But the pacing was a bit slow now and again.

DID YOU KNOW - The distributers of the film decided to change the title of this film to make it seem as though it was a sequel to the successful 'Planet Of The Apes' films at the time!!!!!! LOL!

The Chimps Templar doesn't have the same ring to it. http://www.shameless-films.com/forum...es/biggrin.gif

LOL! Nah it doesn't! :)

The alternative title was 'Revenge from Planet Ape' ! This is exploitation cinema - what do you expect! LOL ;)

Angel 27th July 2008 11:28 AM

Tombs of the Blind Dead is a great film. I would give it 5/5.

'Tombs of the Blind Dead' was originally called 'Revenge from Planet Ape'? WTF! Thats ridiculous.

Have you seen any of the other Blind Dead films Iluv? The second ones pretty good, I think it got released as 'Return of the Evil Dead' by ABUK, The fourth one 'Night of the Seagulls is alright aswell.

iluvdvds@Cult Labs 27th July 2008 11:35 AM

Yeah, I've got them all! I tried to get them all in the Anchor Bay boxset - but it was OOP (I think) so I had to get them seperatly. But for 3.99 on play or hmv - that's a BARGAIN!

I'd say the 3rd is the worst. But it was still brilliant - luved the plastic boat in the bath-tub effect!!!

You know what - I'm going to raise my original rating of 3.5 to 4!

vincenzo 27th July 2008 11:35 AM

I liked the original too. The Ghost Galleon is easily the worst of the series.

Halloween_22 27th July 2008 11:36 AM

Agreed Angel. The first one is an excellent film, it's beautifully shot with some amazing scenery and the zombie knights Templar are genuinley creepy :D

Angel 27th July 2008 11:39 AM

Yeah Ghost Galleon was pretty dire but I still thought Night of the Seagulls to be the worst. Return of the Evil Dead was as good as the first.

Halloween_22 27th July 2008 11:44 AM

The ending to 'Return' is fantastic. Really tense and brilliantly shot.

Mojo 27th July 2008 05:28 PM

The Blind Dead films are terrific, particularly Tombs and Return.

I have the US 'Coffin' set. I would have bought the ABUK set, but some stupid arse from the BBFC cut 16 seconds from Tombs. Utterly pointless.

The Blind Dead also make an appearance in John Gilling's The Devil's Cross ( 1975 ). Anyone seen it?

trench 27th July 2008 08:04 PM

Can anyone outline the differences between the US and Spanish versions of "Tombs..." and "Return..." ? The Spanish version of "Tombs..." is 97 minutes long against the 83 minute US version, and "Return..." is about 4 minutes longer.

Angel 28th July 2008 06:11 AM

All I know is that the US version was heavily cut for an R to remove a lot of violence. I don't know if they cut anything else.

Philleh 28th July 2008 08:49 AM

Sexual violence was cut to get the R rating - do the ABUK versions not contain both versions of the film? The BU boxset does - fans of this collection should check out The Lorley's Grasp aswell. Another Spanish horror gem from de Ossorio.

Speaking of Any Milligan - as anyone seen his short film; Vipors? It's amazing, hard to believe its by the same man who made Bloody Butchers! lol
I've also just bagged his 'Her Flesh' Trilogy - happy days!

iluvdvds@Cult Labs 28th July 2008 10:52 AM

Last night watched the original "Frankenstein" (1931) and "Bride Of Frankenstein" (1935). Very good and very gothic. Great story with some incredibly comical bits - like the famous girl and the lake scene! lol!

http://i319.photobucket.com/albums/m...123/franke.jpg

Anyone else seen these films?

Angel 28th July 2008 10:55 AM

Yes I love those old Universal horrors, also including The Mummy, Dracula and The Wolfman. Still entertaining after all these years.

vincenzo 28th July 2008 12:23 PM

Yes great entertainment for me too. The atmosphere in those films is simply unique. http://www.shameless-films.com/forum...coolgleamA.gif

Fans should also pick up the great Invisible Man Legacy boxed set which contains all the studios Invisible Man films & The Invisible Woman.I have the boxed set with the nice resin busts of the other horror classics.I keep meaning to watch the Spanish version of Dracula which is actually supposed to be superior on the whole to the Tod Browning version.Of all the Universal offerings I'd say the Mummy series of films was their lowpoint but they are still watchable on the whole.Unfortunately the stockily built Lon Chaney Jnr makes a far less convincing Mummy than the tall & lean Chris Lee in the 1959 Hammer film.

Was wondering if anyone could help me out and let me know if the UK DVD release of Bava's 'Bay of Blood' is uncut and if not how long is it cut by? (Angel and Vince i'm guessing you guys will probably know). I picked it up recently because it was really cheap but haven't got round to watching it yet. If it's cut badly I'll probably just order AB's 'Twitch of the Death Nerve' R1 Version.

Cheers in advance :D

mark meakin 28th July 2008 02:34 PM

The Fox Horror Classics set is also worth check out for the two Laird Cregor films The Lodger & Hangover Square & the beautifully atmospheric Undying Monster (aka The Hammond Mystery).Fans are also advised to pick up The Masters Of Horror set which contains Dr X,The Reurn Of Dr X,Devil Doll,Mask Of Fu Manchu & Mark Of The Vampire.I'm also a fan of the subtle Val Lewton produced RKO horror films which I have on a nice r1 set.The Bodysnatchers & Cat People are particular classics.

I think the UK release is missing the best part of a minute.Image released the r1 version uncut & that's the version I have though the sound is not great. The BBFC cuts on the dvd are the same as the Redemption video judging by the RT.:-

I definitely agree NOTS was the worse as Ghost Galleon did have a few atmospheric scenes aboard the galleon. The modelwork during the ships destruction however is the worst I've EVER seen in a film.

Thats not too bad I suppose, shouldn't ruin the film too much. I probably will get the R1 version eventually I was just dreading watching the one I have now only for it to be cut to pieces. Cheers for the info mate.

Here are the cuts from Melonfarmers which are pretty ruinous SPOILERS FOLLOW !:-
The first murder of a teenage girl loses 2s in 2 cuts, the first of her throat being cut from behind and the other of a graphic hatchet blow to the head.
21s (nearly the entire scene) is cut from a boy dying with a machete embedded in his face.
3 cuts totally 9s diminish the death of couple impaled with a spear whilst making love. We love the blood welling from the wounds and their writhing whilst impaled.
11s has been cut from the death of Simon being forced up a wall by a spear impaled in his stomach.

Angel 28th July 2008 03:06 PM

The cuts do spoil the film though because everytime there is a murder the scene ends abruptly.

Halloween_22 28th July 2008 03:07 PM

Ah, yeah they do sound pretty bad. Looks like I'll definatley be getting the R1 version then, I haven't seen it yet but I'm guessing that's most of the death scenes (If not all of them) that have been cut. Thanks again, might put this one further back in my to watch list knowing that. :)

Philleh 28th July 2008 03:11 PM

Yeah definetly! The 'Blind Dead' quadrillogy RULES!

Watched a NON-HORROR film (wow! I know! ;) ) last night - "South Park: Bigger, Longer And Uncut"! 5/5 THE FUNNIEST ANIMATION EVER IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND AND IT'S FUTURE! :) It's soo funny! If you haven't seen this I would absolutly recommend you see it (have a break from horror one night!) It's superb. And I share my name with one of the characters!!!!! :)

That "movie has warped my fragile little mind" ;)

Halloween_22 29th July 2008 02:45 PM

Agreed, 'South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut' is a brilliant movie. It's so funny, I really like Trey Parker and Matt Stones stuff. 'Orgazmo' is another great film by them and 'Cannibal: The Musical' is pretty good aswell.

Have you seen the South Park 3 parter 'Imagination Land', That's hilarious! They were going to make that into a new movie originally but decided against it, I think it's in Season 10, maybe 11, can't remember for definate.
