Watched Hush tonight. Again, excellent acting and some really tense scenes. The main bad guy never spoke and reminded me of Michael Myers or Jason near the end. Well worth checking out.
That the British film set on the motorway?

If so its a good film as you say quite tense in places.

Gave another viewing to Tragic Ceremony last night.

I quite like this film, it has a slow, carefull, get to know the characters build up. Then around the mid way point all hell breaks loose in a crescendo of violence and gore.

The early scenes as the hippies explore the mansion they have been allowed to stay in overnight reek of Corman gothic - A woman in seethrough white descends a stair case lit only by a candlelight as the curtains billow in the wind, lightning crashes out of shot and shadows flicker on the wall.

The film stars Camille Keaton (I spit on your Grave) and is probably a better vehicle for her talents than her other more famous work.

Dark Sky's disc is as near to picture perfect as you could hope, with thankfully, a subtitled track rather than dubbing.

Am I right in assuming that Tragic Ceremony would be a pleasure for both parts of my horror movie related dichotomy? As I like moody flicks as much as I do love quite explicit splatter scenes, this movie sounds like a suitable piece of cinematic art containing both elements - at least that's how I interpret your words.

Greetings!

I watched Who Saw Her Die last night - really enjoyed it and came to the conclusion that 70's Italian films might very well be my favourite type of film ever (even though that encompasses quite a varied ramge of cinema!).

Really want to check out more of Aldo Lado's stuff - only seen Night Train Murders. Any recommendations?

Italian, and Spanish seventies films are with just a few exceptions so much classier than the dross that is churned out nowadays.

Actually even American films from the seventies are better than todays nonsense.

Goblin cheap SyFy movie. Very entertaining movie, decent acting and gore. Cgi was crap when goblin revealed but not the worst movie I've seen.
Dead snow fantastic zombie flick. One of the best modern horrors
