Watched Arrow's Savage Streets last night. Never seen it before. I thought the film was alright, nothing special really, but pleased to own it and will certainly rewatch it.

I cannot understand some of the criticism of the transfer, i watched it on a multi region dvd player on a 42" screen and noticed no ghosting or blurring of the images. It seemed pretty good for an eighties non studio film.

The soundtrack was appalling, and my main grumble with the film, John bloody Parr wailing for 90 minutes aarrgghh!!!

I thought the cheesy soundtrack was one of the more charming aspects of the film -- a little like Top Gun!

Apart from the various films on DVD and BD I've seen this week, I went to the cinema on Tuesday (which fortunately wasn't closed due to wet seats) to see Senna. It is a remarkable documentary comprised entirely of archive footage from various news stations, F1 footage and Ayrton Senna's brother's VHS collection as he spent hours filming his brother.

It is an engrossing and informative documentary from beginning to its tragic end, charting the rise of a brilliant and utterly ruthless driver, his competition with Alain Prost and how he felt the FIA was doing everything it could to prevent him becoming world champion, something which seems completely reasonable in hindsight.

I don't think it'll be around long, so check your local cinema listings and go as soon as you can. Although it will look good on Blu-ray, it should really be seen on the big screen for maximum effect.

I'm going to try and see it soon - I'm off for a bit in a couple of weeks so hopefully then. I can imagine that it will look good on Blu, too.
