The BBC print looked top notch.
Gojirosan likes this.

THE DARK NIGHT - I was kind of made to watch this and actually I thought it was ok (it's nowhere near as good as some make out) When Bale does his Batman voice he sounds like Clint Eastwood. Maggie Gyllenhaal is ugly.

SHAUN OF THE DEAD - wanted some easy viewing while I nursed a hangover.

I also thought the Dark Knight was at best average on first viewing.

There has yet to be a second!

disagree 10000%! Its a amazing flick and I cannot wait for The Dark Knight Returns.

I love the Nolan Batman flicks as they are dark and not the comedy the later half of the original movies had become.

I agree. Though he's decent enough, Nolan's films are absurdly over-rated by many.

I totally disagree about Maggie Gyllenhaal, however.

This evening's flick: Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter?

Did I like it? Did I enjoy it? Do I think it's a good movie? Certainly not.

I loved it. I savoured it. I think it's an epic movie.

Why? Witty screenplay, fantastic performances from all actors and actresses involved (where do you get that today?!) - a timeless satire about how to advertise the stuff you wanna sell. It has everything: some moments make you grin a little, some make you giggle, and some make you snort with laughter. And be assured: 95% of the movie's jokes still work! Jayne Mansfield is gorgeous and really funny, and I loved to see the always great John Williams (check out Hitch's To Catch A Thief!).

Highly recommended? No. It's one of the few real 'musts'.

I can also tell you which disc to buy: Eureka's 'Masters of Cinema" Blu-ray has delightful picture quality and great sound. Also included is a very nice 44-page booklet. I speak from the bottom of my heart when I declare that Eureka should also release a Blu of The Girl Can't Help It. The flick deserves it (the Second Sight DVD is mediocre), and the company seems very apt.

Greetings!

PS: Ooo. I forgot. That's the picture I used for my Jayne poster.

My favourite Nolan film is probably The Prestige.

Plus, I also agree about Maggie Gyllenhaal.

It's called The Dark Knight Rises!

...Unless you were being sarcastic?

I personally am a huge Batman fan and have loved every film so far! I am excited for Dark Knight Rises and the return of Bane, My favourite Batman villain.
