What's the sequel like? Larry Cohen on the BD extras reckoned it was pretty decent, and the third one not so much . . .

They're all good. As you say, you have many movies to check out, well those are 2 of them.

Both are among my faves as well, by the way.

Maniac Cop is a weird one for me. I love it, but never remember just how much I like it till I watch it...then I kind of forget again!

I don't actually remember the sequels at all. Would like to watch them again.

Well, it's a really good experience imo. All 3 of them are cool horror movies that may not be great in certain ways, but are very entertaining.

THE FALL OF THE LOUSE OF USHER - Ken Russell's home movie in which he delivers numerous of his fixations with throwaway Benny Hillness or genuinely affecting weirdness... being a Russell fan, I'm biased towards it anyway, and the presence of Gallon Drunk's James Johnston as 'Rod Usher' pretty much seals it for me... others may find it an acquired taste, but I feel a lot of affection for this film - kind of wish it lived up to its first 10 minutes or so, and was less given to whimsy (yeah, there's Russell full on whimsy, and something a bit more flimsy).

PUMA MAN - An Italian Superman rip-off directed by Alberto De Martino. I'd heard loads of bad things about this film, including the fact Donald Pleasence apparently considered it the worst film he ever appeared in. So I didn't expect much but, I actually really enjoyed it. The fx are naff and the dialogue is terrible and it lacks the big budget gloss of SUPERMAN but, like most Italian rip-off's it has a real charm about it and I couldn't help but love it. The presence of the wonderful Sydney Rome is a big plus. Much more enjoyable than the overrated Superman. So **** you Clark Kent!

I can't imagine watching that film without Mike and the Bot's.
