Will have to look out for that, the Horror Channel has some great stuff on, I just wish they had a HD channel.

Understanding the concept is overrated I love The Holy Mountain - "Pull back, camera!" . . .

Not a bad little horror. A few scares and more than a few surprises. Not great but better than a lot I've seen recently.

Tonight.

MURDER PARTY. Weird little low budgeter with some great black humour and some nasty death scenes. An awful lot of fun.

Blood river. Another surprise, very well shot desert set horror with all but three characters in the entire movie and still entertaining.

LIGHTBLAST. The plot is stupid but who cares? Not me that's for sure. Wall to wall car chases, gunfights, lots of people on fire and eric estrada. It dosen't get any better than that. Unfortunatley not my disc though, one of my jammy sod friends managed to snag one dirt cheap.

Conspirators Of Pleasure/Spiklenci slasti - 1996 Czech Republic/Switzerland/UK d: Jan Svankmajer

Upon catching up with this third feature film from Jan Svankmajer I am yet more convinced that he is the world's greatest living film-maker.

The themes explored here are familiar ones from Svankmajer's work, but nonetheless there is no sense of repetition. The whole affair is a delight from beginning to end with never a duff note. Ostensibly a erotic comedy, it is very funny indeed, but - as you might expect - there are darker tones here too, particularly towards the end.

So, climb into your wardrobe of desire, let the textures take over your senses and don't forget to feed the fish.
